Thank God it was not when the place was packed to the brim with a big event going on. Lot of damage.

With most of these tracks out in the middle of nowhere it's a miracle this doesn't happen more often. I've been at the track when the tornado sirens sounded and a quick look at all the aluminum haulers and campers and one quickly realizes we're screwed if one hits us.

This is why fans should not berate promoters who cancel/postpone a race night because of a weather forecast. There will be times when the weather changes and the rain at the track never materializes. However, the weather forecasting has become better and we really should not be putting ourselves in danger for that 5% chance the strom goes a different way because the other 95% of the time, the track will be drenched. When there is a chance for violent storms, it just is not worth risk.
