I'm planning on being a 'contingency sponsor' for the local track. Anyone have good ideas along the lines of "Leader at Halfway", "Hard Charger", "Last Car on Lead Lap" -- those kinds of ideas? Anything fun or unique that may target someone NOT in the money overall?

Could do a hard luck award. I remember in Nascar on MRN radio at the end of each race Barney Hall and his co-host would talk about the Goody's Headache award. Of course this could be subjective to whoever is judging this as it could go to someone who may have been leading and a tire blew, engine let go, got caught up in another persons accident, couldn't get started, this might be the 3rd week that they had mechanical failure. Always figured if someone needs a contingency award it would be someone who needs to repair the car for the next week.
If there is a certain number associated with your company maybe award the driver leading that lap or whoever finishes in that position

First "non-qualifier" (for the main event).
Thanx,

First off, thank you for putting your money where your mouth is to support racing. I'd be a fan of anything that may reward those With less......

Highest finish by a rookie.
Highest finish by a team that wasn't there the week before.
Highest finish by a driver over 50, or 40 or whatever.
Highest finish by a driver under 20, or 25 or whatever.
I always thought a fun promotion would be to offer, say $100 to the winner of tonight's feature if the winning driver has won a race somewhere else since last week, or won a race this month, or this season or whatever.
Hard luck award- last driver to drop out of a race due to mechanical problems- not a crash, not a start and park event.
Probably not actual contingency award but, Oldest driver, youngest driver, driver with most seasons raced, driver with the hardest to spell last name, race team that traveled the farthest, car with the most nights on the motor, most colorful car, best appearing car.
