Also adding Stockton is a HUGE windfall......that place seats 15,000! Also racey as shit too!

Where's my beer or scotch on the rocks? God-damn it! 40
plus years of dirt track racing in these old veins might
get me condemned by the EPA.

Interesting that instead of Calistoga and Stockton having a 2 day show in March and September respectively they now have 2 1 day shows in March and September, must not be the appetite for big weekend shows in California these days.

Bay area/wine country traffic makes drawing a Friday crowd at Calistoga EXTREMELY difficult.

Have you been lately?  They reconfigured the track, and now the front stretch of the track is the front stretch of the horse track.

I think the separate 1-day shows at Stockton and Calistoga is smart scheduling. They should have big crowds all four nights. As Johnny said, getting to Calistoga after work on a Friday is nearly impossible from most of the Bay Area.

I will let others decide on the wisdom of trying to race at Fernley.

Stockton will be a can't miss show for racers and fans.   Fernley, Is he kidding?  After the King of the West thing that completely disproved his theory that Nevada was a coming hot bed for Sprint cars he's going to try again.  Car counts- fine.  Spectators- not so much.  Area fans are unlikely to be willing to shell out the bucks for the Outlaws in sufficient numbers that this will be more than a 1 time thing.  Hope I'm wrong but...

I have been to Fernley two times, will NEVER go again!  If you like sand lot racing and rickety old bleachers, have a good time...

it didn't work for me but maybe you will enjoy it, have fun and hammerdown...

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Life is good...

I heard new clay was brought in last year and more seating will be brought in as well.

Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

Yeah,  Fernley did bring in new "clay."  We ran the last show of '16, a Pro Stock and Modified deal, and before wheel packing was done there was no track in turns 1 & 2, just a sand and gravel pit. They tried to fix it but with nothing remotely like clay, or even dirt, available the pit meeting was one long  apology session essentially telling everyone to avoid the holes.

Good luck with that and that ended their season, cancelling the last couple shows. Lot of unhappy racers, just as i suspect will be the case with the Outlaws.

I haven't been since the 2017 SCCT race.  The track was smooth  for that one, but no clay.  I do know that there are clay deposits in the area, the trick is getting that clay onto the track.  An excavator operator tells me that the backside of the hill across 99 from the track is all clay and it would make a good track surface.  So, if Dan did get that clay moved over the hill, there will be a surface.  Of course, I have never seen the clay in question, so I have to take the excavator operators word that it will hold moisture and have some bite.  I am hopiing that this has happened, otherwise I can't see the point of booking the Outlaws.
