Auctionnetwrok.com shows it a auctioned with bidding closed and high bid of $0 and no name in the highest bidder blank.

Hopefully just not up to date with the $ value.

No sale per article on keloland.com(sorry can't paste on phone now). The only statements were the auction didn't go as planned (go figure) and an official statement would be released noon Pacific time on Monday.

Actually, the article says the auction DID go as planned, and that they can't confirm as sale "as of yet" due to contracts, etc.

Now it is saying they cannot confirm if a sale has happened & has it that the auction DID go as planned at the end. It shows the site has been updated.

Anyone considered that maybe WRG would be a candidate for purchasing the track?

Johnny Gibson commenting on this thread leads me to believe something happened.

I heard no bids. I trust that as truth more then the bs story on keloland coming from Chuck Brennan. Dude has lied over and over and over yet people still fall prey when he tells another yarn. Most people I know were in agreement that no one would even pay his minimum bid.

I have no knowledge that anyone has purchased the track.  Just was reporting what I read on the KELO website.  (The AuctionNetwork.com site shows the property as "auctioned" with the winning bid listed as "Pending".)

Thanks for pointing that out too. I read the site about 3 min once it was posted and read it about 3 times. Initially when I posted it I read the auction didn't go as planned  & a press release would be out at 3pm. After you posted I went back and  saw it had been updated.

I realise that Chuck is not a writer (doubt he even passed a high school gramar class) and from the appeance of the operation has never had anyone doing PR work for him so maybe its just bad wording on his part but, the wording of the statement he gave KELO does not really suggest that the track is sold.

In a statement he said, "At this time there is not a sale that I can confirm. We will be releasing a statement at noon Pacific on Monday. Wish I had more for you but contracts prohibit saying more at this time. The auction did happen as planned."

This is a developing story. Stay with KELOLAND News for the latest.

If it was sold why wouldn't he say that "the track is sold pending closing but I can not release who the buyer is"

Forum member Murphy, above, had  another possibility in WRG.  Never thought of that.  Now that they are supposed to be finally in the black, which to me is questionable, but  someone posted that here months ago and no one disagreed, maybe they could add this jewel of a facility.   They state in their "papers" available on the internet, that they operate 7 tracks, owning 4 of them and leasing 3 of them.

But I'm in the category of NOT SOLD and no chance of it being sold for that kind of money, the minimum bid,  but I've been wrong more often than I care to think about.  Seems like such a risk but those in the business will know if its worth it or not.  Remember Earl Baltes and his two million dollar+ purse shows, one the total purse was a million, the other paid a million to win, late model driver Donny Moran won that check and of course Jac won the Mopar Million which paid $10,000 to start and $250,000 to win.  So I guess a lot of money can be made owning a race track, but today, 2018,  is a far different kind of animal.

WRG now only owns one track--Volusia Speedway Park . All others were sold. WRG is not,  to the best of my knowledge, interested in purchasing Badlands .

Firstoff, I just want to make clear I would LOVE to see racing back @ Huset's.

But less then a half hour ago I just heard another dumb rumor ie: gossip on this whole auction deal. I am not even going to bring it up as it's just more nonsensical speculating.

Still, common sense says if anything good happened, the city of Brandon alone would have made some comment already.

Certainly if CB got what he wanted we'd of heard it loud and clear by now. Add that what he actually spent on the track and what he said he spent on the track is irrevelant and does not matter whatsoever at all.

All that matters is what someone is willing to give him for it and the minimum starting bid was what most people said is what CB would be lucky to get for it period.

Sadly, it sounds as this debacle is going to be continued?

Per the press release, there was no opening bid by anyone and the auction company shut it down after a few minutes of no interest. You can read it at badlandsmotorspeedway.com   The debacle continues....

All is not lost since no one would place that opening bid of 3,150,000 and the auction ending in no sale.

You can still buy it until the end of the year at 1/3 off the current listing price $6,299,999

Hurry the price goes back up to 9,450,000 after that

LOL

If anyone is interested.  This guy sounds like a poker player.  Telling the truth, in part, but also mixed with lies.  I am inclined to think he is telling the truth on the bidding process, but not on the value of the track (9 million like he wants).

Why would he not accept an offer of what the minimum bid was?  Unless he is trying behind the scenes to open it himself once again for just some big shows that make the most money.

Also, I am inclined to think that lot of what happened Saturday for track not being sold is on the bidders.  Who puts up that kind of money for a deposit to show interest, then shows up to an auction and doesnt make the minimum bid?  They all knew the min....so why show up thinking you would get it for less to open up the auction?  Unless there is a lie about the auction?  I dont see how CB could lie about the nubmer of bidders....somebody knows somebody who would talk about that process.  Is it possible there were ZERO bidders?  And this was just a show?  I doubt it.

You cant always blame this guy....most times....but not in this case IMO.  Bidders showed up to bid then didnt and that is what I believe until somebody has good evidence otherwise
