SEXTON/GATLIN RACING IN ACTION WEDNESDAY AT THE VENTURA COUNTY FAIR!
(Lakeside, CA, July 31, 2018) Team Gatlin Racing drivers Brent, Dalton and Grant Sexton will be in action on Wednesday night, August 1st, at the annual USAC/California Lightning Sprint Car Series race at the Ventura Raceway on opening night of the Ventura County Fair.
The Lakeside, California based trio hopes to rebound from uncharacteristic results at the July 21st race in Santa Maria when they placed 17th, 18th and 19th in the 25-lap main event. Ventura would be a good place for the team to get things aimed back in the right direction. Through the first three races of 2018 at the track known as “The Commotion by the Ocean,” the triad had recorded five top ten finishes with Brent’s second place finish on May 5th being the best of the lot.
Going into Wednesday’s race, Brent stands fifth in CLS points and is only 78-markers out of second. The impressive performances by his two sons in their rookie season is reflected by their 10th and 11th spots in the championship standings. They are also first and second in the “Rookie of the Year” chase where Grant, who just celebrated his 14th birthday, leads his older brother by 41-points with 10 races to go in the current campaign.
Fans can attend not only the race, but opening day of the fair on the fairgrounds which is adjacent to the beach in Ventura. After Wednesday’s race, the Sexton’s will be off until the CLS makes its final appearance of 2018 at Perris Auto Speedway at the annual California Racer’s Hall of Fame Night on August 18th.
