MSCS SEASON BEGINS ON APRIL SEVENTH
LINCOLN PARK SPEEDWAY TO PRESENT
The Indiana Open Wheel.Com RACIN’ FEST

Haubstadt, IN - March 28, 2018.  The Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car
Series will open the 2018 racing season with an appearance at the
Lincoln Park Speedway on Saturday evening April 7th.   The speedway
will be entering into its 50th season of operation.  Promoter Joe
Spiker will once again be presenting the “Indiana Open Wheel.Com
Racin’ Fest” to jump start this season.  In addition to an exciting
racing program, fans will also be able to enjoy viewing a special
fireworks extravaganza!

The MSCS sprint car feature at the “Racin’ Fest” will pay $3,000 to
win!  In all the 2018 MSCS season will consist of nineteen compelling
events at eight different speedways.  Four of these events will be
held at Lincoln Park Speedway.  The second at LPS is set for Saturday
May 26th on Memorial Day Weekend.  The unique 5/16th mile dirt oval
is located on U.S. Highway 40 at Putnamville, IN,  west of
Indianapolis.

Brady Short of Mitchell, IN, is the defending MSCS Champion.  Short
collected MSCS series titles in 2017, 2016, and 2015!  Besides that
three consecutive years effort, he had another initial championship
run back in 2011.  Kyle Cummins is the only other sprint car driver
to capture four MSCS Championships.  Brent Beauchamp was the 2017
Lincoln Park Speedway Track Champion.

Thomas Meseraull of San Jose, California, won the “Indiana Open Wheel
Racin’ Fest” last year.  T Mez shared the podium with runner-up Brent
Beauchamp and Jarett Andretti.  Other past “Racin’ Fest” winners
include Shane Cottle, Chase Stockon, Hunter Schuerenberg, Jeff Bland
Jr., Jon Stanbrough, Dave Darland, and Levi Jones.

Drivers interested in running for the MSCS Rookie of the Year Award
are reminded that they need to complete a license application and
request rookie status.  This driver development program for rookies
involved a total of seven different drivers last season.  For 17
years the series has provided a competitive environment for drivers
to learn the ins and outs of touring with a sprint car series..

The pit gate at Lincoln Park Speedway is set to open at 3 P.M. in the
afternoon.  The main gate opens at 4:30 P.M.  Hot laps and group
qualifying begin at 6 P.M. and racing begins at 7 P.M.  Drivers are
reminded to arrive early.  Those first races held each season require
added paperwork for drivers and teams.  The MSCS pill draw ends 45
minutes before hot laps.  The program also includes events for the
track’s Modified, Super Stock, and Bomber divisions.

MSCS also has another race scheduled later in the month of April.  On
Saturday April 28th the series will combine forces with USAC to
present the “Spring Showdown” at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN.
This event is co-sanctioned with the feature to pay  $5,000 to win.
