If you could only choose one of the following what would it be?

1. Attend an unlimited number of races each year (150 or so races anywhere in America).

2. Field a WoO or WoO caliber team and put any driver you choose in the seat.  The catch is you have to work to afford that so you can only attend 20-40 races while fielding the team.

Neither a or b.  Anything over a dozen races cuts too much into other interests and I'm not a smart man but I know enough that I'd never want to own a race car.

#1

Alot of tracks out there I want to see and the experiences of getting accross the country seeing the different things on the way to the races would be the cherry on top. Also sounds more relaxing. Would love to own/field a car though too. But being just a one year deal that would be my choice. If it were a multiple year deal then I'll take option #2.

I just had a vision of Peter, Joe, Quagmire and Cleveland playing would you rather........................the subject matter was different though.

Good question.  I say #1.  When the races are over I have nothing to worry about.  Except if I need more ice!

Its much easier to sit in the stands and enjoy racing than it is to own a race car.

I'll say #2.  As other's have said it's easier to sit in the stands, but at the end of the day you have no investment or attachment to the sport.  It's easier to sit in the stands, but it isn't as fun as being a part of the process.  I've been a volunteer at Eagle Raceway and other tracks in eastern Nebraska the last 10 years, and it's become the best "hobby" I've ever had.  I work harder at the track than I do at my paying job (and I'm a landscaper, so I know what hard work is), and I've put my own money into doing what I do (radio equipment, tools, LOTS of vacation time taken from my day job, and unfortunately a couple medical bills) but I enjoy almost every minute I'm at the track because in a way our crew is helping make for a good show.  SImply put....watching racing is fun, GOING racing is more fun and is worth the effort and expense.

For me it’s a no brainer and it’s option 2. With Logan driving

Maybe  Schuchar is another name for "hot shoe".

I'll go with #1 due to a decision I made when I was about 11 years old.  My dad was telling me how some of the cars are driven by one guy but they are actually owned by another guy.         I decided right then that I wanted to be the driver !

I'd do option two, put myself in the car and then be broke within a week cause I will have wadded up every car I own :).

On a more realistic note, having the money to field a team would be very fun to do but even if they were WoO caliber I don't think I'd want them to run WoO. I'd run the team for a couple track championships and a couple extra events which would be much more fun to me. There are local drivers who are looking for rides that I know I'd put in in a heartbeat if I owned a team.
