when Ford is "allowed" to build a slow enough engine to keep the existing engine lobby happy...

the greatest "show" on dust with 30 year old traditions has little to do with the greatest "racing" nor does it need too with the ticket sales the way they are.

Lincoln 1845 ft/.35 mile T1=118MPH
Eldora 2287 ft/.43mile T3=135MPH

Grove 2792 ft/.53 mile T3=135MPH
Selinsgrove 2847 ft/.54 mile T1=136MPH

What?  Next you're going to tell me that professional wrestling isn't real.

It's no longer about "racing" it more about "the event".

"and driving the Artice Cat/Ford Performance # 15 is Fargo, ND's Donny Schatz".  What bullarky. Race on Sunday, buy on Monday. Well, maybe in Napscar.  BUT, if the general public found out, and I'm not the first to mention this, but if they found out that a car that the general public thinks Schatz and Ford won the 2017 WoO Champeeonship with because the car has the word Ford on 4 or 5 sheet metal panels, that would be a stain on Ford and on the WoO. And when I say general public I'm talking about your average fan who only knows what he/she sees at the track. I'd guess 75% of the fans at the track believe he's running a "made for the WoO" motor and paid for by Ford Motor Company.   And I guarantee you that Johnny Gibson has been told in no uncertain terms "not to say anything about him running the same Shaver Chevy combination that he has always run".  Likewise, Speed Sport News, Flat Out and  Sprint Car and Midget magazines have not mentioned this fact even one time.    I'll never forget when the Iowa Ford Dealers sponsored the Knoxville Nationals several years ago and required each and every sprint car to have a Ford blue oval decal "prominently displayed" on the sheet metal.

Then there was the half hour ESPN special from Bristol Speedway in which Jason Blonde drove a sprint car to a Bristol record lap of 145+ or something MPH.  It had a brand new Gaerte Engine, according to Joe Gaerte's email to me a few days later, yet because Ford sponsored the event, the Ford Blue Oval was on the sheet metal, meaning what?.  Ford engine obviously.  Fool me once, Fool me twice, fool me a third time.

I'm just surprised that Nascar's Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead, FL this year didn't require all cars in the race to have the Ford Blue Oval displayed on them someplace.

Lawlessness and liberalism equals Hell. NY City,
Detroit, Seattle, Chicago, Minnepolis, etc. We saw it.
Burning hundreds of buildings, a thousand assaults and
dozens of murders. Getting worser and worser.

And what exactly makes all these engines, “Chevy” engines? Honest question.

Am I the only one who doesn't care whether or not it's a Ford under the hood and finds all the constant bantering about when where whatever mind numbing?  So he has a Ford performance decal on the hood and not one under the hood...so what. Ford is giving them money and obviously ok with the arrangement. Above someone says "driving the Arctic Cat/Ford Performance 15" key word is performance. If they had said Ford Powered, well then that's a different story. Obviously Ford is ok with the arrangement and opening their pocketbook to put the blue oval on the hood. Why can't we be happy that a sponsor wants to be a part of this sport. Oh ya, I know, because it's on What's hood that's why and he beats everyone except Gravel like a red headed stepchild. The 17 had a great big Ford logo on its hood for several years and nobody said boo. Yes I know it wasn't Ford corporate. But still. Yes, I'm a fan of the 15 (go ahead chastise me, been a fan of his since I watched him win his first 410 race at Husets on Mothers Day) and a Gravel fan...damn I've had a good year...and a fan of several others. Oh, and yes, I bleed Ford blue in my daily driver vehicles and I HAVE NO ISSUE whether or not he's got evenly spaced exhaust ports on his heads. I'm just a fan of him kicking everyone's ass and taking names no matter the power plant. Rant over, I feel better.

I have always been of the understanding that sponsors pay money to get their brand in the sight of consumers not a license to force teams to use their product. Is the 15 obligated to use Arctic Cat pieces if possible? No. Ford is advertising on the car most often in victory lane. They are getting the most for their dollar without any pressure to hand out any free parts.

If teams were obligated to use sponsors product then it would be very easy to force every team to use the exact same cars frames wings pistons and coolant.

Then you get an IROC race. Boring.

It just advertising on a moving billboard.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Isn't it all pretty much the same? 8 holes for pistons, camshaft through the upper deck, crank bolts to the bottom, heads bolt on , etc...  What makes a small block Ford "generally" not perform as well in a Sprint car?   Is it that damn distributor/mag in the front instead of in the back?

Those NASCAR teams dump untold millions into motors every year and they look on the outside like they did years ago.  Is it all down to piston design, camshafts and head flow... etc?

Probably not one piece on a so called Chevy 410 engine is made by GM. However the block is configuired after a Chevy block. A So Called Ford 410 engine would also probably not have any parts from FoMoCo. It would however have a Ford configuired block. Selinsgrove Speedway has 2 or 3 guys running Ford Configuired blocks. What all is in them I have no idea. They win a race every once in a while.

I've  preached about it before. There isn't chit that you can go at your local ford or chevy dealer and put in a current sprint car motor.  I don't know if you are ever going to see a true blue oval motor. WRG see's what is going on in the SLM war of motors. Do they really want this in the sprint car ranks ? Personally, I don't believe so.  To develop a all new motor the costs in tooling alone would have to be absorbed by guess who ? The racer.

What is going on ? Josh started the season with a bow tie and they decided it just wasn't getting it done. What did they do ? Switch to ford power and he liked the response of the ford. But wait, what does that motor cost ? I've heard 57,000 for a motor that has to get freshened up every, with best probably 10 races, 12 max. So if this new motor goes in and costs let's say 60K. Do you really think WRG wants that ? Everybody is complaining about motor costs. Let's see 300K for 5 new motors. Freshened every 8 races, you mite as well add another 1/2 million to the sponsorship budget.
