What a joke of an article.  His accomplishments aren't close to Steve the King Kinser.  Maybe Bloomquist is the best dirt late model driver of all time but definitely not the greatest dirt track driver of all time.

Another one of his stories without the real facts/stats

Kinser's wins (577 is not the correct amount,  they never counted preliminary night feature wins back in the beginning and that is not counting other sanctions) second, Bloomquist has won the World 100 4 times (biggest late model race) while Kinser has won the Knoxville Nationals 12 times (biggest sprint car race), I could go on and on.  This Bolin guy has his nose so far up Bloomquist’s a$$ that it is not even funny. He sure doesn’t know much about dirt racing, he is more of a comedian

first, i think you need to get somebody to proof read your article. wow, was that bad.

second, wake up, it's time to catch your school bus and head off to school

scott is good, very good in fact, but if you are comparing national wins to come up with this finding then you better clean your glasses off and take another look.

Bloomquist is the best to ever wheel a late model and the King is the best to ever wheel a winged sprint car. Pretty easy.

The World is just one of MANY prestigeous late model events. Sprints pretty much have two.

If you check records for prestigeous events(biggest payouts/longest running) you'll see Bloomquist's name down several times on most of them, vice versa with the King in sprints.

They are both the KINGS of their style of dirt racing. To say one is better than the other is comparing apples to oranges.

However there are some drivers on dirt who may not have dominated like either of the above but can wheel more than two types of cars to a victory.

I would throw Billy Moyer's name into that discussion.

They can have more prestigeous DLM events because their fans don't waste $$ on dental work.

Another thing he did not add into his articles was how many times Bloomquist has been caught cheating in his career.  Hey Shannon Bolin, why didn't you print my reply which I submitted at the end of your article?  Don't you like being called out on your factless article?

This article is an opinion piece and apparently the writer is a Late Model fan so it only follows that he would consider Bloomquist to be the greatest dirt track driver.  If a Late Model fan sees an article that says Steve Kinser was the best dirt track driver ever a lot of Late Model fans might be making the same case for their guy on a Late Model board.  Nothing to be upset about, it's just some Late Model writer's opinion.

Dirt track fans are passionate and loyal.  Sprint fans stand up for their deal, Late Model and Modified fans do the same.  I'm partial to Sprints but have seen quite a few open Late Model and USMTS Modified shows and it's all good.  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  ;)

Why?

The man can drive anything he gets behind on dirt, has 294 outlaw wins racing against some of the greatest driver, He is 61 years old and still races. He is still a competitive driver.

Agree.

First off, I think Kinser is the greatest of all time.

However, one could make arguments for Bloomquist---especially a late model fan.  For Kinser, In the prime of his long career, there were three or four cars that had a chance against him each and every night.  And, much of the time, some of those legit contenders didn't even run full schedules against Kinser.  Pick any late model event over the last 30 years and there were a dozen or more legit threats to win on any given night.  I would know because before I fell in love with sprint car racing, I was a DIEHARD late model fan.  The competition was and is fierce.  You never know who is gonna win and for Bloomer to continue winning for decade after decade is very impressive.  (even though he is a complete tool)

So, to be clear, I think Kinser is the best of all time.  But if you want to argue Bloomer, I will let you give your reasons and I won't call you an idiot.

Apples and oranges indeed.

Yes, I agree completely. It IS time to start recognizing his accompaniments. Lol this guy writes like a severely retarded Mark Twain

No one has accomplished what Bloomquist has? Hmmm Steve Kinser? Schatz? Wolfgang? Swindell? Bloomquist best year was 1990 when he won a "whopping 28 features". Didn't Kinser win over 50 a few times? This article is laughable. I think you can add Billy Pauch as one of the greatest dirt track racers too. He's won in sprints, modifieds and anything else he strapped into.

The actual article is embarrassing, but the idea behind it is a good argument. Steve is my top all time dirt racer, but Bloomquist has been incredibly successful.

Non wing fans would throw other names in the mix besides the two that were mentioned.  Dirt racing is entertainment and I'm not passionate enough about it to argue and call people idiot. Whoever they like is fine with me.  The article is just the opinion of a writer who is partial to late models.  Nothing to be concerned about.  I have been to quite a few USA Nationals and some of the big WISSOTA Late Model races.  I watched them from Lucas Oil Seedway on tv last night.  They drew 67 cars and racing was good.
