Charlotte on Friday Night & Lawrenceburg On Monday Night ? is it because they want to watch the Indianapolis 500 :) ?

I'd imagine it's probably partly in part due to the respect of the Indy 500 (and them watching it too lol). Also, from Charlotte to Indiana is a decent haul so I think it's good they give them a couple days off in there.

Keep in mind Charlotte has traditionally had a Saturday rain date. We used it in 2010, then had a 9 hour overnight drive to Tri-City Speedway in Franklin, PA for a Sunday race.

I was really surprised that their first rain date for West Memphis was a Wednesday?   I would have gone to the original date, and might have gone to the makeup had it been on a Friday or Saturday.   No way we're going on a Wednesday.  I can see the crowd at West Memphis being smaller on a Wednesday.   I'm not even sure what the current makeup date is, but it's unlikely we could go to that one either.

sometimes crews need to head back to there respective home bases for maintanence reasons also before they make a run of so many races in so many days.

I wish Lawrenceburg was on just about any other day than Memorial Day night so I could make it down there. I was vey happy when it rained out 2 years ago and run on a Friday night in October and I will be rooting for rain again on Monday.

Yes I am that selfish.

It is a nice facility, but I wish they had left it as a quarter.

On the subject of the Memphis rain date--there are NO open Fridays or Saturdays on the schedule.  (Same if Lawrenceburg would rain out Monday.)

I am sure if you are a promoter somewhere between Charlotte and Lawrenceburg and wanted a race night that the WOO would give you a date.   The WOO makes money when they are on the track.   I believe it more that there are no promoters in that geographical area that wants a date on that weekend.   While some promoters do well on holiday weekends, others will actually close and not battle all of the other holiday activities.  Like I have said many times, If someone thought that they could make money doing it, it would happen.
