Any non regular All Stars planning on making the trip to Pa. this weekend ?

Right now I would say Dewease has better than a 50% chance of winning Friday and Saturday Sunday is up in the air Chad 10H won last year at Bedford so thats their only chance for a win this trip.

Any news on Dave Blaney saw the Ecowater #11 at Knoxville practice didnt say if it was the Mottern car or not?

Kemenah can win anytime, anywhere. He's been especially tough since he joined forces with Hunter. I'd love nothing more than to see the ASCoC champions end their losing streak at Williams Grove.

Why? .... I don't seem to share the same "PA self-shame" as you.

As a PA fan I like that the All-Stars haven't been able to pick up a ASCoC win at the Grove.   I sure as hell don't go around pounding my chest about it (It's kind of a remarkable stat if you think about it.), but I like when the PA guys win.  If an All-Star wins a race, like Dale Blaney did at Port a couple of times, I think, "That's great for them.  I just saw a pretty good race." Then I drive home.

I'm from Ohio so I'm pulling for the Ohio All-Star guys but the track record shows it. If Dale Blaney wins it doesn't count as Posse or an Allstar win, IMO it's an Ohio driver win :) lol

No self shame here. I'm proud of our local racers, I'm proud of the tracks we have, and I'm proud of the 95% of Pa fans who are some of the best fans in all of sprint car racing. While I'm not a fan of the other 5% who think that sprint car racing begins and ends with Central PA and thump their chests loud and obnoxiously to the point of ridiculousness about all things Posse while ignoring the fact that outside of Central PA, our racers are average at best and while I do love when someone outside of Central PA pisses in their Posse Wheaties by winning against our guys our home turf, that's not the reason why I want to see the ASCoC end the losing streak at Williams Grove. Growing up in the 1990's, the All Stars were my favorite group of racers anywhere. I was much more excited when they came to Pa than when the WoO were here. I loved the drivers: Kenny Jacobs, Dale Blaney, Kevin Huntley, Frankie Kerr, Joey Saldana, Dean Jacobs, Danny Smith, Daniel Coggeshell (he tore up a lot of equipment but man was he fun to watch!) Rocky Hodges, Van Gurley Jr., Tim Engler and of course 2 of Central PA's own Jeff Shepard and Keith Kauffman who both had stints with them back then. I especially loved their cars: Hughes 94, Shoff 23s, ConnWest 1W, United Expresslines U2, Holbrook 8H, Lindsay 2D, Ashworth 92, Wendt 77 and one of my favorite cars of any era, the Frigidaire 1F just to name a few. The All Stars lack of wins in our area at their own events is remarkable considering guys like Kenny Jacobs, Frankie Kerr, Jeff Shepard and Keith Kauffman all ran Central PA as regulars at various points throughout their careers and won many races at all of the area Speedways. You would've thought that they would score some as All Star members too but it didn't happen. Regardless, I've basically always been an All Star fan and even through the terrible stretch under the direction of Guy Webb, I always liked them so I'd love to see them finally break through at Williams Grove and it has very little to do with shutting up the Posse chest thumpers even though that would be a bonus. Of course nothing really shuts them up anyway because they just make excuses or look for some fringe connection that particular driver has to Central PA through a crew member, engine builder or whatever else. On another note, I would like to see Dale Blaney get a win at Williams Grove as well whether it's this week or whenever. Hard to believe he's never won there and I know he wants to get one of those checkered flags as much as he wants anything. I think this year is the year it will finally happen.

Understood.

Look at the names you listed though, I mean I think it's pretty unbelievable that none of those guys were ever able to win just one All-Star sanctioned race at the Grove.  I think it speaks to the quality of competition in PA, the unique nature of Williams Grove, and little bit of just plain ol' luck.  Here's to a good racing weekend ahead.

By any chance, was Leo Tolstoy your favorite author in high school?.....  Don't take it personally, I'm just having some fun with ya.

It's tough to win at the Grove, the Posse have won 6 of the last 8 against the Outlaws there. Schatz, who is good anywhere and very good at the Grove is 1 out of his last 15 there.

On the contrary, the Port Royal Regulars (Doug Esh) have already been beaten twice this year.

Esh has 2 wins and invaders Lynton Jeffrey and Brent Marks have a win each. Esh always seems to raise his game when he's trying to defend home turf. Although outside of Chad Kemenah, it would be a pretty big upset if an 'All-Star' driver were to win. Caleb Helms will be fast.

KInd of how feel about the Broncos, living in Denver (lifelong Redskins fan) Denver fans are "Bronco fans", not "football fans". If they lose, the other team cheated, played dirty, the refs screwed  up, or they pick one Broncos player to blame & crucify.
For me, if Denver wins, cool, if they lose, can't help but chuckle at the crybabies...

On the other hand, I don't live in Pa. so I don't have to put up with "the 5% " you're talking about, so..... GO POSSE!

Lincoln running a big payout show against the Port All-Star show could definitely help the All Stars cause to win at least at Port Royal. I'm not sure who will go where but I would imagine Dietrich, Wolfe, Monteith (maybe Hodnett?), and some of the other big guys will be at Lincoln. Wish these two races were not going head to head because I would be at Port, but can't pass up a 410, 358 and Super Sportsman show 10 minutes from home.

Thanks,

Jeff.

Dietrich and Montieth are confirmed for Lincoln.   I would say Lucas Wolfe will be at Lincoln too since it's paying more.    Hodnett said they would race where the money is this year, but he struggled at Lincoln in the feature the other week so who knows where he will race Saturday night.

Williams Grove should easily get 50 cars on Friday night.   We had 36 for the Yellow Breaches race 2 weeks ago....might not have every single car back but 32-33 PA regulars should show.    Plus what, about 18 All-Star cars.   I see no problem getting 50 cars, especially since it's supposed to be like 80 degrees all day.

Also, Bedford drew 40+ cars last year.     With the All-Stars bringing a few more cars this year I think Bedford should have an awesome field Sunday as well.....maybe around 45ish.

I'm really looking forward to Bedford. I only ever go there for the 410 specials and I haven't missed one since the 1990's. It isn't usually the best racing but it's a neat old track. Very rustic. The best part, is the sound of those 410 engines echoing inside the old covered grandstands as they haul ass down the frontstretch.

Yea, Port hasn't usually been a problem for outsiders as of late.

I agree that its a shame the tracks had to schedule these races against each other. I am a weekly attendee at Lincoln but would have gone to Port for the All Stars, but like you a 3 division show 20 min from home wins out all day long.

Kemenah has the best chance as you say. Caleb Armstrong has been fast this year but has limited experience in PA and Helms has been fast. Don't count out Ryan Smith. Wonder if Cole Duncan will come over. My guess is he'll stay in Ohio.

Grove may draw 40 but see no chance of 50 alot of the 36 that were there for the Yellow Breaches will not run time trial races and the All Stars are down to about 13 or 14 with no Kinser and no Grove 70.

Word was that Wolf was going to Port as the Lincoln show only pays more to winner and rest is a normal payout with handicapping and no time trials.

Nothing against Massey but I wish Tom Buch would put someone like the Wild Child in the car Deitrich didnt look real bad in Florida and others have done ok in the past.

Still will be surprised if Dewease dont win at least one and probably two.

Monteith would go to Lincoln even if he lived in Port Royal borough. :)
