Thought the night went pretty well. Definitely glad to be watching sprint cars in the Midwest again.  I viewed online.  Was disappointed with the 410 car count for sure.   Even with 2 outlaws who came because of getting rained out in Missouri, we ended up with 22 total I believe.  Looked back a few years starting with 2013 and working to the present.   By year: 2013--32.....2014-31.....2015-38.....2016-31.....2017-22.       Now without starting an argument, (because I'm sure someone will start one for me)  who are we all missing?  Which expected "regulars" are we missing?  Why are they missing?  Do we care about this lower than usual number?  Was there races somewhere else that affected knoxville? I know IRA raced in Wisconsin, but I'm pretty sure I seen one maybe 2 that would've come to Knoxville.    Just curious what everyone's thoughts are.

The 7 & the 1B joined together. The 17A & 2ks are now 1 team. Lasoski & Bronson Macheon  (sp) were not there. Dobs is only running a limited # of shows at Knoxville.  There is 5 cars missing. He trick switching to a 305 makes 6 . No Vanderecken #10 or Buskocki #84? That accounts for 8 cars.

Ryan Bunton used to come weekly. Balog came during the NSL years. Sammy Swindell has nearly been a regular the past few years. Justin Henderson never missed having both 360 and 410 until last year. I don't see any of these guys coming much if any this year. The 410 count this year looks like it is just gonna be down.

Brown and BWW would have been with the WOO.  The 87  was going to race in Kansas, i think.  That would have been 17 cars for opening night.  It was a good show with a nice crowd, only complaint was the 7 car b-main for the 360's.

Scheduled to have 9 in the B with two not making the call. If they tag on all seven and make a 27 car field for the A main there is sure to be more cautions. We needed filler during the intermission anyhow.

My complaints would be the 5 dollar to park ANYWHERE on the grounds and the ticket lines. The ticket lines were the result of ticket exchange due to the rain out so that was a little out of their control. The parking... still burns me so I'll walk. When your just used to it being free your entire life I find this change to be annoying.

Super Chuck found Nate Van Haaften's pre-race comments on the radio very....interesting?  Paraphrasing here, but Nate said the rookie 360 drivers should have reflective tape on their cars.  And that some of the 305 drivers might be moving up too soon and wouldn't be ready for 360s, believe the words he used were "in the way".  Nate finished a respectable 19th in the feature, after being passed by Devin Kline, McKenna Haase and Christian Bowman.  Ooooops.

Justin Henderson is racing ASCS this year for some reason.  He has made alot of money at Knoxville but says he wants to see more tracks.  His car owner just lives at Newton, about 20 miles from Knoxville. $5.00 parking, do not worry about it.

Lasoski said he's gonna pick and choose what shows he runs this year so I imagine he won't be running too many weekly shows because he's picking his races with a more fiscal philosophy this year. I'm paraphrasing from an interview on MRN Winged Nation I listened too quite a while ago so could be misrembering.

So... $20 bucks for a weekly show with about 20 410's, better car pool!

The Winged Nation show Lasoski was on last cleared that up. Sounded like he was paid to go to TMS ASCS show. So didnt make financial sense to him to drive to Iowa for a weekly show when the Outlaws where down south where he was.

The outlaws and BWW82 were average at best. There will be several winners this year and most will come off the front row as there are several cars that are very equal.Looks like they want to have more campers in the western part and the $5 parking fee had many cars parking north of the Pizza Hut and walking in.Rookies looked good a few veterans made rookie mistakes. The 410 weekly show will have less than 20 cars but very srong top 10 cars. 1/2 price concessions after 305 feature sold a lot of pizza.10:30 is great to get home earlier if driving very far.
