On lap 42 battling for the lead in lapped traffic Tim Kaeding makes contact with leader Larson & both cars spin collecting 3rd place running Tarlton. All three go to the back (14 cars on lead lap) and finish in top ten. In closing stages of the race Day gets by Sanders for the win, Golobic passes Suggs for third and Bud passes Clauson for fifth. Abreu's rookie year would go on to win the Key race in 2013 & 2014.
