Travis had a rough day today, he is in a lot of pain, but doing better this evening. His sister, Ashley and her husband are going up to see him tonight, and Greg, his Dad , is going up for the weekend to be with him. It will be good to have family there to boost his spirits. Each day he struggles with pain and pushes though it---and all of you sending your well wishes and prayers are his support too. Thank you!

Talked with Ashley, Travis' sister, and Travis is resting more comfortably today. The comfort of being with family! Our "Hard Charger" is recharging, but his pit crew of family and friends will put him back out front again soon!!

Just got an update from Maryanna---Travis is finished with skin grafting--they covered his legs and the only surgery will be if there is a problem, are scarring. That is the good news and it even gets better---Travis may be leaving the ICU unit within the next two weeks. He is in a lot of pain and they are trying new meds and it seems to be helping. Our boy is on his way!!!

So this guy puts in a friend request to me on my You-Tube page and I check him out. He has a small promo clip with Travis and I thought you all might like to see it. It made me laugh and should make you all smile too. Best wishes to Travis and his family.

Just talked with Maryanna and Travis is better today. Both his parents are with him and so is his sister and brother in law. Good to have the family together and lifting Travis' spirits. Each day shows improvement and bringing us closer to recovery.

Travis is racing ahead, surpassing the Dr.'s expectations. He was up and walking again today! This "Hard Charger" is ahead of schedule and doing well! Dr.'s were pleased with his progress and happy that the skin grafts were doing so well.

Travis will have more company from Texas this weekend. My son, Adam and his bride, Ashley will go for a visit and check on the boss. I will be with ASCS Gulf South series this Labor Day weekend with Greg, he will be racing and I will tag along with Travis' sprint car selling t-shirts and meeting fans and friends in Beaumont, Willis and Lufkin, Texas!! Hope to see you there!

Sorry I haven't posted an update lately---went racing this Labor Day weekend with Greg and the Gulf South guys. Great weekend and great racing. The fans were awesome as always and generous to the Race for Recovery. We sold some t-shirts and met a lot of fans and well wishers. In Beaumont, a young woman walked up to me and said the she was here visiting from Seattle and was a nurse in the ICU where Travis was, she couldn't believe that by chance she met us and saw Travis' car and even bought a t-shirt!!! Small world--she goes back to Seattle Tues and takes back a Travis t-shirt and a picture of us at the track!

Great news! The feeding tube came out tonight and he tells me that he may be moved out of the ICU unit Tues. or Wed. He's working real hard in therapy and showing the therapist he knows all about screwing nuts and bolts and keeping everyone smiling! It is hard to believe he has come so far so fast in his recovery and it is from the support of people like you. The family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts. Check out facebook for pictures of Travis and his family that they took tonight at the hospital---he looks great, handsome as ever, and that smile lights up the room! If you do not get Facebook, send me a request with an email and I will send you the pixs!

I am in Seattle with Travis! He is doing awesome! I am amazed with his determination and spirit. He was moved from ICU and is dressing himself and walking the halls regularly. He has been here for 8 weeks, and will be home soon!!! His progress is remarkable. He still has some areas that are not healing as quickly and we are hoping for improvement. His sheer determination and will to recover have been instrumental in his recovery and the support of friends and family and all of you with hoseheads has been incredible. The Drs. will see him Wed. and may be able to make a determination of when he may be released to go home to Texas for rehab. He is working hard and with everyone's support he will be there soon.
