Rico is closer to standing up than he is sitting down from what I saw a long time ago, maybe he has changed?

Honestly, it's the fans. Most of the people in the stands are not too bright. Most people in the stands are assholes. If you don't believe me look at this whole thread, couple of dumb assholes arguing and calling each other homophobic names. I always wonder what potential sponsors must think of us. It's no wonder car owners, drivers, tracks and promoter numbers are all dwindling. If I didn't grow up going to the dirt track every Sunday I would have never gotten into it because of the fans. I'm surprised I haven't gotten cancer yet from reading this message board. Perhaps I'm being a little harsh but I would say I can't stand 40% of the fans anymore.

Apparently you cared enough what he thought to reply. Also I don't wear sandals and do not know where you came to that conclusion. I guess when you are proven wrong and expose yourself to a number of people what a worthless piece of human garbage you are, the only thing you are left with is calling people names. My 2 year old son is more of a man & human being that you will ever be. Go ahead with the next set of insults because apparently that is the only thing you are good at.

egras addressed that in his previous post.  If the track allows it, what can be done about it?  I know  Gas City and Kikomo allowed it during the Sprint Weeks 2 years ago.  First time I had ever seen that, but once I was told that it is SOP, I never gave it another thought.

Can't say I agree with your percentages, but I do see what you mean. And hell, maybe you have me stuck in your 40%......regardless......I think the % of fans in the stands in no way compare to the % of fans on this site (that speak up anyway). My family and I have made a lot of friends from all over the country over the years at the races. And I believe I have on this site, also.  I've been corrected on this site when I've been factually wrong and I accept that and admit it when I am wrong, factually Smile  ......when it come to opinions, a person can't really be wrong.....it's only an opinion. But some seem to take things so frickin personal that they stoop to the bs you refer to. Some to the point that it's outright crude and filthy. And it seems that hardly a single post can go by without those people rearing their ugly heads, and it seems too often be the same ones over and over.

This may have been mentioned before about fans, but why do some fans feel dropping the f-bomb every other sentence at the race track is ok? I was at the Doty race last night and fans were basically using it as an adjective describing everything from the cushion, to the racing, to how great of a driver Kyle Larson is. Maybe I'm old fashioned but a good f-bomb should be reserved for a bad official's call to really get your point across.

I see an opportunity here. Leave your blanket in the car for now. Show up early and pay a couple bucks for a golden ticket. Later when you come back, the golden ticket allows you to go to the front of the line. The couple bucks paid into the Golden Ticket fund is given to the drivers in some form of bonus or drawing.

Please don't condemn all sprint car fans for the actions of a few.....

I admit I have a lot of bitches but bitching about all of them doesn't always help (need to try and stay positive more!). So, since the question is about pet peeves, when I think about it that way I have two.

1) Race tracks that don't try anything differnet meaning they have the same predictable schedule year after year, same "specials" year after year and just don't get out of thier comfort zone and try something differnent to attract new fans or at least mix things up a bit.

2) People who bring lawn chairs or "bag" chairs to grand stands that aren't intended to have them. I like that some tracks have sections dedicated to these types of chairs that are simply concrete areas with no bleachers. But when idiots try to cram these things in front of a bleacher making it very difficult to get past them to the isle absolutely annoys the living crap out of me.

So I take it there are no moderators on this board?  LOL

1) Seating is a pet peeve.  Specifically knee room.  When I have to get up and stand on the bench so somebody can squeeze by me to reach the aisle, that's not enough space.  I'll give an example of a track that got this right:  Cedar Lake Speedway.  We were there last weekend, and I was pleasantly surprised that at the knee room.  I literally didn't have to move at all and people could come and go easily.  Good job CLS.

2) Another one that I haven't seen much of on here, bad parking/exiting layout.  If it takes longer than 45min to get everybody off the grounds after the race, that's a problem.  Volusia was a tough one for that, Beaver Dam, Deer Creek also have poor setups.  One spot that did a really good job at this was the Oshkosh Speedzone (sadly closed now).  They had multiple ways to leave the property, and you could clear out quickly and safely.

Everybody seems to be more polite in person. I've never had trouble with ANYONE at a race

Eye contact, plus the realization that you could get punched out, makes us behave better in person

On the Internet,  we're all just disembodied opinions. Like the guy who has been insulting & threatening people on this thread. He can talk as tough as he wants, but face to face, may realize he's bit off more than he can chew....
