Lance already beat the outlaws more times than most of the rest of the nation at THEIR home tracks...he's had a long and successful career.

Watch him on the 69k closely...if he is moving forward on Lap 8 of the A Main...the set up is golden and he is going to the front...does he always win? no...does he continue to move forward...YES.

Each grandstand at Port seats 3100 people. At least I know the original one on the turn one end seats 3100.

I'm guessing they 3/4 full (4500).

Infield probably around 2500.

Pits probably around 1000.

I'd guess 9000 aprox. since my estimating is on the low side.

3/4 full? looked jam packed to me....

Don't have a clue about specific numbers, but they announced it was the biggest crowd ever. I don't know how fans in the middle of the infield could see anything....

I thought I was way ahead of the game when I arrived at 1:30. Nope.  Line for tickets was halfway to the street. By 2:30 it was out IN the street...

So glad a guy offered to sell me a reserved seat!!!!

Seeing the late models in the infield was extremely difficult, but at least we could see the top wings of the sprinters.

I would never count Dewease and this team out anywhere, or at least on tracks they have experience.  Knoxville would have been a long shot, but everyone would have known they were there.

Yes 3/4. Not every seat was filled. Im being realistic as my veiw of the stands was from the infield. Also, if you read the complete post,  i said my estimates are on the low side as i dont like to exaggerate.

Track personel told me they were expecting 10000 people just for the race.  I think they got thst and then some.   Dewease isn't my guy but for a 40 lap or longer race he's as good as anybody ever.  We don't know what he would have done at knoxville but we'll see what he does against the outlaws here in a few weeks at the grove.  My money is on Dewease holding another 50k check at the end of the evening. The nice thing about that is we won't have to debate.

If you remember Lance has had some good runs at knoxville in the 77 and the 88 and ran circles around Brian Brown Saturday night.  We will never know for sure but we will know for sure in a few weeks if all the money in the world can compete with a light blue privately owned team with a now 17 race motor in the car.  Good luck outlaws.  You're gonna need it.

I believe he was in the 25 when he blew a tire with a few laps to go and half a track lead on prelim night. I remember the announcers saying they never saw anyone with that big of a lead at the nationals, prelim or not.

Lance has done well for sure against the WoO in his whole career at the Grove where he has 7 of his 10 WoO wins. In fact, the Posse overall has done much better against the WoO the last 10-12 years or so at WG compared to the first 25-27 years of the rivalry, and that trend may very well continue.
