I deleted my three photos, which apparently weren't really there. I'll try again later to post a few of them properly.  Stupid bits and bytes anyway!

Thanks gang (even you Hawker, LOL) for posting these. They are really neat and some bring back a lot of memories. What it must have been like to be so close and see some of these legends race! I got to see some of them but not all and appreciate the photos.

I can't believe that someone hasn't posted a Jan Opperman pic. Here he is in Speedy Bill's car.

Here are two Al's who excell in their chosen professions....Consoli the photog and Unser the racer.

Ok.... Time to test the age of some of the youngsters here.

Everyone had the Hotwheels "car carrier" that was shaped like the race wheel/tire. How many of you had the "Johnny Lightning" car carrier?

Oh, and one more thing..... Here is the "Big Brother" to the car that SJFast posted...

I've decided to become more of a lurker instead of a poster here now but I just felt I had to post something to go along with all of these terrific photos. This is one of my favorite shots in recent years because it reminds me a lot of those old photos like the head on shots of cars sliding into a turn. This is Al Consoli's shot of Bud Kaeding qualifying in Gary Zarounian's #67 Stanton Silver Crown car at the Sumar Classic at Terre Haute in 2004. Like some of those old photos the left front is in the air and you can see the drivers eyes looking onward. Thanks everyone for posting the pics. Hawker the pic of GP in the pits at K'ville is great.
