Sammys aggressive no doubt but he's also one of the sprint car drivers to ever live and unlike the King, is still competitive on a fairly Regular basis after the age of 60.

Respect Sammy for all of his accomplishments, but I'm not a fan and never will be. Have seen too much in person and on TV.  The guy is a legend though!!

I like Sammy...bought about a dozen shirts to prove it.

BUT...when I am there and he drives like a dick...I take the shirt off, tie it into a knot and throw it at the catch fence.

2 less shirts now because of it...got thin out the collection and its a good way to start...

If I would have bought 12 Sammy shirts back in 1983 when I started going to the races everyweek and doing what you say you do.....I would have been out of shirts by 1985 or 1986 and back then I mostly saw the outlaws at Williamsgrove everytime they came to the area.

Let's go Sprint Car Racing!

Positivity!! This is such a refreshing thing to see on a board that's as negative as Hosehead's.

Enjoy a Sensenig's sammich for me, will ya? Actually, you'll probably complain about that too.

Wouldn't blame them since their shop has a tendency to show up on the health code violation list.

Dude... Dont ever buy from that place. Chicken breasts are nasty and warm. Steaks are mealy and warm. Those idiots need to understand that meats need to be kept at least somewhat cool. I picked up a bag of chicken and it was half full of blood and juice and the edges were white because of how warm the shit was being stored at. The place is so nasty. However, their portable smoker produces some shit at the track. At least you know the shit isn't full of bacteria when u eat it.

You think it would've taken you that long... Smile  I figured you'd be out by the end of '83 wink

Yeah, I only buy their stuff from the track because I live about two hours away. I love the ham with about one pound of horseradish on it.... sooo good.

I only ever got salmonella one time and that was from a KFC. 24 hours and 17 pounds later (no joke, thats how much I lost) it was flushed out of my system and I was right as rain again.

We got rained out at susky one night so we towed down to Lincoln to catch the delayed sprint feature. Anyway at the end of the night,  if they have a lot of extra food,  they sell big trays of stuff for pretty cheap. I think we got like 12 giant turkey legs for 10 bucks and another big tray of ham for a few dollars. Their track setup is pretty good and they're nice people but stay away from the "cooler"  section in the store.

PA. Posse fan you are right. You do not

Have to be for Sammy . Be for the driver

of your choice.example the congresswoman

who said trump should be assicinated

mispelled. But if trump said that

about her you would never

hear the end of it. Most all sprint

car drivers have been in some

kind of altercation.

Personally I think a large number of the fans that booed Sammy over the years were just "joining the choir" because of what they heard, and not what they may have witnessed. Most all sports enjoy having a bad guy. I've really only become a fan of Sammy's in recent years. I did however always enjoy his ability. I had many other favorites based on where they were from mostly. My opinion of Sammy has always been consistant. I've seen a hundred or so live WoO events and too many taped WoO races to count. I can honestly say I've not seen more than a few incidents on track that could even come close to being considered intentional on his part. I hate booing....period! Has he always been the best interview? No, but I think more so because of his nature and being uncomfortable with a microphone than his being an "ass" as many state. I do think in his interviews today he seems more comfortable. At every race track in the country I visited, Sammy was always booed. Impossible to have that many people witness an on track act that was worthy of that being the lable of "Slammin". So why now am I a Sammy fan? Well the most obvious is the fact that we are witnessing the tail end of a fabulous career, and, he reminds those of us that were there in the beginning, that we did have a hell of a couple generations of fabulous drivers back in our day. Secondly, I was one of those who chanted "Sammy-Sammy-Sammy" at the 2010 Nationals after the tire let go. It was a "feel good" moment to witness the largest crowd of the year cheering the man for the drive he had just left on the race track. And it was a hell of a drive! A CLEAN DRIVE! It was almost like in an instant, there would now be more cheers for Sammy in the future at the Nationals than there would be jeers. And that has been the case there ever since 2010. And.......those cheers come from a large base of fans that did witness that night, because they return year after year to Knoxville for that event. That drive also represented the hundreds of great drives he has performed over his long career. Even though some will deny those drives ever existed at all. So yeh, I'll continue to cheer for Sammy Swindell!

How many drivers did tires let go during that race? It may have been a clean drive but he did not take care of his tires throughout the race, which is why he did not win that race. That is why Schatz is so good, he knows how to take care of his equipment during the race and has a great crew which he thanks all the time. Sammy doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut.

If you know anything about that year, the Goodyears were having a problem all season, and suddenly exploding was one of those problems. !f you know anything about that night, they showed the exploded tire (LR) and it was knee deep in rubber. Hardly a case of abuse!

This one was the Swindell Knoxville curse. Plain and simple.

Again, how many other drivers blew tires that night?  Typical Swindell fan, making excuses just like driver.

If I remember correctly wasn't the tires the storyline of the Kings Royal just a few weeks prior that year?

Again,  how many other drivers blew tires in that feature? Maybe Goodyear had a bad  tire that year but all the other drivers adapted to it for that race except for 1 driver who was driving the 1 car. Swindle fans sure cannot seem to get past that maybe he wasn't the class of the field that night because others were able to take care of their tires.  Remember the story of the tortise and the hare?

You're kidding, right? The "tortise(mispelled without the second o) and the hare"? There are no tortoises (correct spelling and plural) in sprint car racing are you serious? It must have pleased you that Sammy's tire let go. Just bad luck. He did not abuse the tire and what the F--- race did you watch? I'd say he was right there as far as being the class of the field that night. Regardless.....the fans by an overwhelming majority gave him tribute for the driving display he put on in front of the crowd that night. It's obvious that you are a Sammy hater or you wouldn't have mentioned Swindell fans.....As for me, Sammy is one of many that I enjoy watching and root for. And I wish bad luck on no driver!
