I would say there is a chance that Rico ends up in the seat.

It would Be Awesome to see Shane Golobic in that ride. He just won the KWS race in Watsonville Ca tonight. Brady Bacon or Rico would also be able to win in the 17 car. I like Joey, but in this point of his carrer...he is not willing to take risks, and not willing to drive the car super agressively.

Some guys I'd like to see in the car are

Aaron Reutzel- He's proven to be fast and has already stated he wants to run more 410 shows with the ultimate goal being a full time Outlaw.

Shane Golobic- Would be cool to see Shane get a shot in it but with USAC commitments with Clauson-Marshall I don't see it happening unless SJW is gonna drop off Outlaws.

Dominic or Giovanni Scelzi- Both are already back by Roth. Dominic has been getting faster with his summer trips to the midwest and Gio has been very fast in Cali with some 410 wins this year.

Sammy Swindell- Don't see it happening with his 360 deal in the #3 car and not wanting to run 50+ races a year but love him or hate him the man can wheel the hell out of a sprint car.

Thomas Kennedy- This guy is kind of like the hidden jewel of Wheelman. Fast, smooth, smart behind the wheel. I'd definitely rather see him in the SJW 17 than the BWW 82.

Same result.  Fast early in the night, boat anchor in the feature.  Should've sent Swank packing.

Rico has way too interesting of a life to settle into any full time Outlaw ride IMO.  The 17 team is great, but not as good as his own 24 team.  If they brought Paul Silva along to wrench the 17 or resticker his 24 cars and use the 17 hauler, then maybe for a while.

Saldana will bounce back and be happier and win races after this change too.  Get a job, be at home more often, enjoy his growing family, run a schedule like the Allstars.   Good move for all parties involved in the 17.

If I made the calls for 17, Schuhart.

If Rico wanted to run outlaws, he would.  He is already backing Lil haud to do so.

Putting Jac in the car is stupid....they just fired a guy for being past his prime....

Logan would be a good choice for next year if they wanted to win immediately!  But he isn't going to leave this year

Golobic would be a fine choice if they were willing to learn while losing for a couple years!

I don't see this team sticking around for much longer though honestly.  They pretty much had to bring four people together to make this happen and it was all for BC.  Joey was simply in the right position at the right time and brought himself and Roth to finalize the deal.  Stenhouse isn't a strong player in nascar, Ford isn't a strong player in sprint cars and I don't speculate Roth sticking around the outlaws for much longer at all.  I'd imagine this time will either become much smaller or leave all together.  Whoever ends up in it the rest of the year will most likely be finding another ride by next year

Jac getting fast time was a big deal. Ending up 16th wasn't. I believe in most cases that if are fast early then just go downhill from there that is mostly on the guy turning the wrenches. Sure, set ups today require you to be fast the last 1/3 of the race. If you go from setting fast time to a bottom feeder your doing something wrong. 16th says the locals were beating you.  Give Jac a couple weeks and see if he can get the car in the top tens, 5th to 8th places, and i would call that a definate improvement.

No, you are incorrect.  On a narrow bullring, Jac tried to split two cars and the gap closed.  It was an aggressive move that resulted in him wrecking.  He was 100% at fault.  Video is posted on dirtracingreport if you want to see it again.

I have nothing against Jac, but he has a reputation for tearing stuff up for a reason.  There is only one pedal in any car he or Sheldon drives.

I love Jac but few have lost more races. Rico!

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

It didn't help that Sweet caught a rut sending him bouncing and Logan tapped the inner berm, but yes gotta agree here Jac's move was aggressive resulting in his flip/crash.  Even if those two cars didn't catch a rut/berm it would've been a "clenching" move that if it worked fans would've woooo'd but owners would've been "whewing."  Jac's gonna Jac and that oftentimes means wreckers or checkers, gas pedal only, overly aggressive moves that agin wows the fans, but car owners hate.  Even if Jac doesn't tear up a car during a race, he's real heavy and hard on engines too.

I like Jac too (there's a reason the "haud line" is exciting for fans) but man he's never been the easiest on equipment.

I once asked Guy Forbrook in the motel parking lot during the Nationals, while he was casually working on the #5 Jackpot Junction car, how he rated the drivers he'd had. He was pretty candid with his answer. Simply put, he said, "Jac is the fastest driver I've had, And Danny (Lasoski of course) is the smartest driver I've had, he is a money driver." As for Danny, he also said if Danny runs second, that's what the car could do, if he ran 5th, same thing......but he added Danny had the same desire to win as anybody. Over Forbrook's career as a mechanic/owner/crew chief, I have no doubt that his biggest successes were with Danny Lasoski at the wheel. And I too, like Jac Haudenschild as well. It's too bad so many of our favorite drivers are reaching the age where owners look the other way.

I was there the night Kyle won tensions were high after that victory. Must say you can't really gage Kyle's victory to Joeys lack of any Wins.Larson is just a breed of his own...

Knowing what I have heard is that the ride was in fact offered to one of the top 5 Outlaw points leader. Understanding that one of the Crew chiefs is an ABSOLUTE loose cannon. People are always listening and watching. People see your actions!!

To see the leopard hasn't lost his spots. Teams are willing to grab your driver and have lots to offer them...... If I were the owner of team protect your investment [(driver)]

Being a Saldana fan for 20+ Years it saddens me and hopes that the Bullet can claim his 100th outlaw victory. When you come to Town Joey, dad and I will  still be one if your biggest fans!!! Maybe you will have some time now to help your boy race! #littlebullet

I have seen this crew chief in full effect earlier in the year.  I couldnt believe my eyes or ears to what I was witnessing.  I do not know how I could put up with that night in and night out.  I know they are running well in that car but this could be a good match.

Are we talking Swank here?  I'm trying to read between the lines, but lovethedirt's post was a bit, well a lot, convuluted.  If in fact we are talking about Tyler, then yeah both comments (lovethedirt's and yours) make complete sense which is why I'm assuming that's who is being discussed here.

Since they stated top 5 in points, i'd say no.  Narrows it down to the following teams:

KKR - not sure who the crew chiefs are, but Daryn is supposedly struggling according to everyone

LMR - they just brought on a new crew chief and have won the last 2 in a row

CJB - Gravel and Barry Jackson run really well together

TSR - Donny and Ricky

Having said that, I have no idea who they are referring to above, but I can't see LMR or TSR losing their drivers unless the wheels fall completely off the bus.

The car/driver was obviously struggling in the A Mains.

From the MRN.com website, Saldana started in the top ten 19 times so far this year and finished ahead of where he started just ONCE in those 19 races. Overall, in 37 races, Saldana finished ahead of where he started 10 times and just twice since May.

Hoping someone here will tell me if it's Swank they are talking about and exactly it is they saw. I've only briefly met him a couple times but he seemed very cool, mellow.

If it were up to me they would bring in Bill Balog, although I'm not sure what their plans are as far as getting car owner points money from the WoO or what. But I believe Bill is ready to face whatever competition there is out there. A true outlaw schedule of all the big shows in PA, OH, WI, Iowas and Illinois and surrounding areas could be profitable.
