A couple things Mr Altman (? whoever the hell you are). I'm sorry you didn't get hooked on sprint car racing until you were 17....you missed a lot. As for facilities, you're all wet! Hell I remember the days at the Knoxville Nationals when the guys were lined up 100 wide pissing on the back of the old wooden grandstand under the bleachers. That didn't stop the crowds from being there. Cops were aggitated of course.... Yeh it's nice to have good facilities and food. But that is not and never will be what draws the fans as a whole. You want to know where the new fans come from? It's simple....they are brought up in it and then they bring their kids. We have 3 generations in the stands at the Nationals (lost my dad last year or it would be 4), and we're not the only ones. we see other fans our age with their kids and grandkids every year. I would venture to say that while our kids (son and daughter) were going to the races with us, that we had at least 8 or 9 each of their friends go with us at times over the years, and we see most of them at the races yet today....now with their kids in tow. You want to do something to bring new fans aboard.....call on the Big Brother chapter in your area and take a couple of those kids to a few races. Now you have a concrete idea to work with that will introduce new fans and you can have a direct impact in doing so. Talking about bringing new fans in and doing it are two different things. Just do it or shut the hell up about it.

You  people attacking do not know the many things , the horrible things I do in  the back alleys and  the street corners for you , the Great Fans of our Great Sport.  I am not one bit bitter about being tossed out of certain tracks I attack constantly  on this board  and many others. It is pure  coincidence that I only enjoy the  racing and the bathroom stalls  of the tracks that allow me to  spread the good message of my fanclub for you , the Great Fans of our Great Sport.  Thank you for our opinions of me.

If he was running for president his platform would be "A glory hole in every stall and a fanclub table at every track" that I will do for you my fellow racing fan Americans!

Thank you Mr. Blazer , all good points made . I saw a lot and yes I know about the racing was the draw in the hey days of racing , I started going to racing back in the 60"s with the homemade 30x90's cars in Pa  and much more , that was when racing was racing but most of these guys of today don't know that , as they think the racing of today is so good but is not as competitive or innovative . So I am sure we could trade stories back in forth to some degree . But you are right that families took there kids to races and others . But times have changed and most tracks as you know are not providing that good of racing that pulled people into the grandstands of years gone by .But it is a good idea to take a kid from or with out a father or home to the races as a possible mentor . What I hope for is nothing of what I would like see happen today at the races .

That might very well explain his racing enjoyment...and I quote his own words...."I like the racing and the bathroom stalls....."   LOL!

I see Robert did not reply to my last post. To much truth in it for your liking Robert?

Rather than setting up your table and doing give aways to existing fans who are all ready at the races, try bringing a friend or 2 with you. Pay for their tickets & food. That's how to make new fans. Not give aways & autograph sessions for existing fans.

But of course you would need to actually have friends to do that.

Blazer had a great idea there. If you're truly serious about introducing new fans to the sport, you'd do it but I'll guarantee you won't because you never do anything except talk about it and stand behind your table giving away a bunch of posters that you dug out of Knoxville's dumpster or organizing an autograph session once every 5 or 6 years and then come on here and act like your gods gift to race fans and you've done so much to help us poor down trodden fans that tracks such as Lincoln and Williams Grove use and abuse.

I will answer anything Mr. oswald . yes , I know the racing is what brings the people first thats what got me started or hooked , as the racing way back when was much better then to today , even though I respect the drivers of today alot . It was the cars built , hardly no rules and everyone either built there own car and other items that made racing great back then . But back to what you asked me , yes I have friends but they all come to the races but maybe I should bring a kid or two to the races as the other gentleman suggested . And yes they would be in hooked on it , as long as it maybe didn't run to long provided the age was not to young . I do know what you are talking about sir and yes  I agree with alot of what you said .

Lol your too much Robert, only you would try to answer a question that was actually a really harsh insult about the thought of you breeding little Roberts or Robertas. I'm laughing typing this, keep answering your critics questions Robert, this is the funniest thing on the internet, I mean this same exact thread has played out literally 100 times over the past year and a half, and Robert you keep asking 5he same freaking questions, I can hardly wait for the next one next week after Robert goes to race this weekend and wants to let everyone know what they could have done to make it better for us , the fan. Thank you for the comedy Robert.

How can he attend Knoxville AND Badlands when they run the same night? But he could attend 2 beautiful facilities every weekend.

Do you seriously want this tool gunking up our youth?  My god man, are you crazy?  What if one of those youngsters wants to set a table up at YOUR track?  Bad idea, just a bad idea......

I am glad to spark humor in your life, it must be boring .  it is not played out the way you see it  . I don't want to say how I can make it better for you ,because I can't as you know and others are satisfied the way it is , so that is all that matters right . It is not my goal to improve what promoters do but just point things out as I see them but I guess that is over your head in reading my posts. My problem is I care to dam MUCH AS TO WHAT HAPPENS AND TAKE IT TOO SERIOUS , AS OBVIOUSLY NO ONE ELSE DOES , SO YOU FIND HUMOR IS MY SERIOUS NATURE ,THATS GREAT .You should not make comments until you actually know someone , try that sometime .Thank you for all your comments , I enjoy them .

Maybe I should , because no one on here cares a DAM LIKE I DO , THATS ONE PROBLEM . The other problem is you people are so ignorant or closed minded as to who a person is or his or her opinion's . I am silly to care so dam much , to let you get me irritated by your stupidity and others . and for that I am sorry .

Why is it that because we enjoy going to the races you say we don't care? Read the comments on the thread abut Susquehanna on Sunday, the only complaints are from people who wanted the show to start on the advertised time and to get home at a decent hour. You keep referencing that racing is not as good now as it was in the old days before store bought parts. I have been going to the sprint car races since I was 2 months old and I can tell you that I remember some not so great races back then every so often just like I see every so often now. They can't all be knock down drag out six car battles for the lead Bob. You keep coming up with ideas to grow the sport and when someone suggested that you bring new fans you had excuses why you couldn't. Maybe you should take some time off from here and concentrate on building your home built 410 and try and get a team to try it out for you.
