Why does this Jennings #801 feel like a Hillenburg car?

JD,

The car flipping is Dale Parson from 1975. It was painted green and white. The #101 " TheTin Can" super was David Bergmann.

Mike Jimerson, #70 Luce super at Tulsa

I am trying to figure out if this was a play day or if he was timing in for a race. There are not very many people in the stands, if this was a race I would think there would be more fans but there are no other cars on the track so in a way it looks like he is timing. There was a play day on a very cold Saturday afternoon in March 1972 that did not have very many fans, there might be that day. Does anybody no when this photo was taken?

This photo shes the old grandstands very well, I spent a lot of time setting in turn 1 about where this photo starts showing the grandstands. this is the only track that I ever saw with the pits outside turns 1 and 2. There was only one entrance going into the pits from the track and sometimes the racers had to wait on each-other to go into the pits or go to the race track.

The 33 car on the outside of the flipping car is Larry Deathridge in Joe Cox's car. this is not the same car that Emmett and James Eubanks drove, that car was destroyed and Joe purchased this one.

Mike thanks for the info, Bergmann, #101, got some shots from Amarillo of that car, got Snoopy the Dog on the back right corner of body with the caption "It's Race Night".

801 Darrell Jennings , see that car and immediately think of when he wrapped his car around the infield light pole on 1/2 mile at OKC , one reason why they moved them further back away from the track because of his incident, it was ugly for sure that night.

Jerry Douglas , the guy always had nice looking cars back then, he was a short fella as well as I remember.

J.D.
