Bigfish.....sorry 'bout that. I think that was my 8th post since 2004. So you can see I'm not on here very often. Not sure, but am I supposed to check with you or somebody before posting an opinioin? Just wondering.
DH crew guy....IF you're legit...which I doubt...(just another bs post) how do you think he got to where he is today? Are you saying that all the top sponsored teams should run with cheaper parts? Do you think he STARTED at the top with the WoO? He struggled during the early years like everyone else. I think anybody that follows Sprint Car racing already knows that Knoxville is probably the toughest regular Saturday night track in the country.

You take a political poke, and then cop a attitude like that about it when I poke you back with my opinion? Just wondering.
My opinion is that if you want to take political pokes out of the blue with little scenarios, you had better be able to take a poke in return. If you can't, don't do it.

That's cool. I got strong shoulders, thick skin...and there's still enough ass back there to chew on. I've been roasted by people WAY bigger than anyone around here.
That's the problem with communicating by message board....you can't hear tones, see expressions, etc., so if you don't know someone, you might not be able to tell if they're serious or "poking." I can't believe how sensitive people are about politics the last few years...especially the Obama worshipers...not implying anything here.
But hey, this thread is originally about a great driver doing a great job winning the biggest race. Winning THAT race from the 7th row is pretty remarkable. Like him or not, he'll go down in history as one of the best.

Well I seem to remember him driving a family owned car for years, and also winning the nationals and the WoO championship with a small sponsorship from Tom Johnson Camping Sales. Otherwise his car was bare. That's about as close as your going to find to a car winning with the outlaws without big backing. Who was the last outlaw that you seen without some corporate sponsor to help be a winning car night in and night out?

wildchild...If those stats don't imply total domination, then who's finishes are better in the last decade???
AND...the majority of those finishes are with the FAMILY owned car, not the Tony Stewart Racing sposored car....EVERY driver competing on the Outlaw tour has good equipment. If you want him to hop in a $#^T bucket and drive, I am sure he would still make the A Feature on Saturday night

All's I can say is Donny drove his azz off all week and if it weren't for powerplant issues he'd've been in VL a couple of more times at Kville.
If he can maintains pace - he'll earn yet another WoO title..

I say this not to disparage Donny's driving but to recognize the team's skill (including Donny) in his success. To me, it looked like they have arrived at a superior set-up for Knoxville. Donny could run that car where ever he wanted and the car was always on rails.

Schatz deserves any win (as does ANY driver) ...this one was pretty amazing though coming from 13th IMHO.
Like him or not .... he is the class of the field at the 2011 Knoxville Nationals and that is that.
I was pulling for Stewart and he was coming on at the end ... but the trophy is Schatz's so.... woulda, shoulda, coulda's .... reguardless: congrats to the 5 time Nationals winner.
And on a side note.... I was cheering for Shaffer too ... I was 'conflicted' on who between those two I wanted to see win ...thought about the show Stewart had put on the previous 2 nights and went with Stewart .... that was some awesome display of passing many GOOD .... no make that GREAT cars the entire Nationals.
