Brent tweeted this morning that unforeseen circumstances prevented them from racing today at BAPS. Brock tweeted on 11/9 that world finals was his final race of the year.

All in all, it was a good day. Those of us who were there now know what watching a race in Nome, Alaska would be like....it was COLD. Good field, well run show and some pretty good racing for a daytime surface. I'm sure somone will have something to bitch about which is the case with everything but I had fun and I didn't lose any toes to frostbite.

Is there any strategy in tire compounds in temperatures hovering around freezing?

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

No disagreement there. A 4pm start would've been absolutely brutal. Sad part is, I still would've been there. I guess I'm either not to bright or I just love the hell out of sprint car racing lol.

I am glad I went as well......although it was chilly, I try and support BAPS whenever they run the 410's.....in my humble opinion, if Gobrecht was willing to spend a ton of money into the old joint, he deserves my support as a Central Pa fan for a return on his investment....They ain't building too many new dirt tracks anymore.

Plus Gobrecht built the party deck/ flagstand.

Read the press release for the changes at Port Royal.   It refers to the moving and building of a new smaller flag stand.

The only change I would make would be to reduce the size of the flagstand. It is way too big and does severely obstruct the fan's view.

I'm a thousand miles away and I can see he was making a joke. I hope you can too. wink

The coldest race I've even been to was a Cheater's Day race at the Sioux Empire Fairgrounds in Sioux Falls SD. A couple rainouts pushed it back to late October. I don't recall the temp, but I do recall wearing winter clothes and it spit snow during the daytime feature race.

Not redneck anyway.... inner city! 55 gallon oil drum fires like the homeless guys use on vacant lots

Probably would have been very popular!!! wink

I think we can all agree on that. It's well done and all but the damn thing just blocks so much of the view. The only remedy is to sit low enough to be able to mostly see under it. Other than that, they've done an amazing job and they did it in a very short amount of time. Pretty amazing.
