If you watch the shop tour it seems like they are done.

What did you see in the shop tour that would create the thought of folding up? Did it occur to you that things are just kept in a tidy way? That was Jason's way & all successful race teams shops are very organized & everything is as spotless as possible. Plus they were having a shop tour along with the JJR Foundation weekend as planned. JUST SAYIN

I would bet the shops are only spotless when they know someone is coming for a tour or they are making a video promo.
Nothing wrong with tidiness and organisation but let's be realistic.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I think you need to go see some of the big race shops in the Charlotte area if that is what you think

If David doesn't go back there not folding because it's to expensive, it's because bobbi wants to raise Jax as a normal kid

Most owners don't travel with their teams.
Most don't make any money.
It's not rocket science.
They don't even know how to spell sprint car

Someone said earlier that most shops are only clean when people are there(or something like that)...Sammy would disagree.

In my many years of travelling and visiting many, many shops here are a few observations. Sammy, by far had the cleanest and most organized shop, unbelievable place. Gary Wright (best sprint car golfer of all-time) had a shop that you had to follow a path to get around, almost maze like, I expected to find lost visitors wandering around, but he knew where every screw was. The biggest shop by far was John Bankson's who also owned a construcion company and one of his buildings was turned into a shop, complete with many cars he drove from the past. The most fun shop I visited and as often as I could was Randy Martin's who had a guest or visitor room or office whatever you want to call it but we sure had some fun there and the fridge was always full, miss that guy a lot!

Any news yet what Gravel will be doing for 2020?
If he goes truck racing will he continue doing sprint cars on a PT basis

If he has Gordon's backing and can get in with a good team then he might be able to pull it off. Otherwise he'll wind up like Rico and Kraig. The grass ain't always greener. Personally I hope he stays.

Being 27 years old, David's on the wrong end of the age bracket for teams to give a serious look. Plus, HMS/JRM do not have any truck teams, and Jeff Gordon isn't the guy that's gonna march down and open a spot up. The only thing in Nascar I see happening is a run at Eldora. DG back in the JJR 41 for 2020.

Lol. If anyone was to march into HMS/JRM and "open up a spot" Jeff Gordon would definitely be that guy. Who else would have more pull than him? But I do agree with your point on Gravel's age and hope he stays in the JJR41. After a shakey start hes been incredibly consistant and I think he could contend for title next year.

Agreed. Ideally if he got with a good team he would need at least two years in trucks and another two years in Xfinity. That probably puts him being 32 or so as a Cup rookie if everything goes well.

Wrong end of the age bracket at 27???
Geeezz, maybe that's more reason why there are former NASCAR bleachers at little Bradford Speedway???

I would agree that 27 is the wrong side of the age bracket these days which is sad because 15-20yrs ago that was around the age you had to be to be a rookie in cup. I am hoping that the JJR 41 is back on the track full time next year but here are the things that would concern me about Gravel returning.
1. He has stated he wants to try to get into Nascar on his Youtube channel in his Q&A. His words were that his future is up in the air and he would like to get into Nascar. He mentioned safety as one of the underlying reasons. He also stated that he was not sure what JJR's future held & in a perfect world they would like to return full time but he didn't know what the plans were.
2. It has been reported that Jeff Gordon has been trying to help Gravel get a ride. Now while HMS/JRM do not have a truck program, that does not mean some sponsors that have afiliation with Gordon wouldn't sponsor Gravel. A majority of rides in all 3 series are pay to drive rides anyway with drivers bringing sponsors with them. If sponsor dollars become part of it that is what gets the deal done.
3. If Gordon is involved, sponsors may listen. They may not do it for Gravel but for Gordon they will. He is also part owner of HMS so a loose affliation could be involved with some of the sponsors in their network.
I hope both are involved next year and my gut tells me somehow JJR will be. Just a matter of working sponsorship around. With Gravel, I'm not so sure.

41 team is folding because it is too expensive.
Unhook the cars already.
|
Wrong as always. Article in speed sport confirming JJR to continue in 2020. Philip Dietz still the crew chief & sponsorship to be sured up. Still up in the air for the driver. Cars are are unhooked, just a lot of ppl complain when their drivers don't win
