So winning and being successful, taking victory lane photographs and answering questions in victory lane of how you just won, beating 23 of arguably the best dirt wheelman in The country is now considered arrogant. Hmm....I’d have to say that every WoO sprint car driver, or any race car driver for that matter, but definitely sprint car racers are the most arrogant racers on earth and have the biggest ego’s on the planet....they have to have that in that in their back pocket because if they don’t, well, they definitely won’t be successful. I heard tell of a crew chief last year having a discussion with his young up and coming 305 sprint driver. The kid said he didn’t have an ego. The season crew chief asked him if he was a race car driver. The kid said he was. Crew chief replied well son, if you drive a race car then you have a great big ego! I’m guessing your assessment of Mr Schatz’s attitude is based moreso on the fact your favorite driver can’t keep up with him on a regular basis. All the great ones go through this...Kinser, Wolfgang, Swindell, Lasoski (in the Midwest especially when he was in the Forbrook 5), and many of the earlier breed such as those in Oppermans era before my time. The last several years have shown this...It’s Shatz’s turn to be chastised simply because he is numero uno and in a class by himself. Either way, I’m guessing that negative opinions of others don’t matter to him in the least as he smiles on his way to the bank. The WoO love it to, as people fill the stands to either see greatness, or to see someone beat him. Just a humble opinion.

I havent seen all of his 249 victory lane interviews but of the couple dozen or so that i have heard he is very quick to blame his crew for each victory and take all the credit for the failures on the weekend.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

This what I heard from a sorce very close to the stiluation. That TSR sumitied a Ford engine to the World of Outlaws but the World of Qutlaws did not like the location of the cam shaft in the block so they where not allowed to use it. TSR is currently building another version and Tony will run it this next year to test it before putting it in Donnys car.

They are starting from a clean sheet of paper. They'll get it dialed in soon.
