wasnt there still waiting on the cushion to put it up. But even the announcer was calling it back so it must have been a bad call

That start was awful. K. Swindell passed about 4-5 cars up the middle before he was out of turn 4 as well. The announcers actually announced that the start would be called back and then when the cars were in turn 2 and the green was still out said "Oh I guess we aren't calling that one back." The only person that witnessed it that didn't think it was a bad start was Clark I guess.

Is it Doug Clark's call to make or does that come from race control up in the tower?

Clark is blind in one eye and has selective vision out of the other one depending on if you're his buddy or not.

Terry like him or not, Its not like he punched the flagman or worse. He isnt afraid to speak his mind. He operates his program with a lot of Heart. I used to think he was a prick, got to work with him once and realized well, he may sometimes still be a prick but, I dont care he is there to win and has a huge amount of mental focus yet has good humor also. He is there to win and nothing else.

it all comes down to in this forum who you like and who you dont like, and i have been going to knoxville for 30 years and i have seen t-mac do alot of dumb things, just think if sammy would of done it this page would be 10 pages of keyboard racers giving there opinion. They worst flag man i ever seen is Dougs son i cant believe some of the starts he lets go every saturday night

Tmac has every right to be pissed. It is what he does for a living, and if someone is cheating you out of money you would probally throw a fit too! Plus Terry is not an idiot, he knows by doing that he will most likely sell 1-2 more t-shirts. Tmac is a good guy who is just trying to make a living.

what I would like to see some driver boycott the race also.....hey I get the tantrum an yes it should have been called back whats done is done...but the mocking of the blind eye an the racial slurs...demands a public apology I for one will not attend Osky tonight.

if it was Sammy I would feel same way. This boils down to costing a guy money while doing their job. No I don't care for Sammy but the start was terrible and it affected more people than McCarl, he's just the only one with balls to say something.!

I've only missed about a dozen Knoxville races since 1988 and that was the worst start I can remember in all that time that wasn't called back..... Usually I have seen Doug Clark call back a bad start and then let an even worse start go on the next try...... As for the Clark's not flagging the Osky race, nobody goes to the races because of who the flagman is.... Won't make one bit of difference.... There are several flagmen in Iowa who are just as good as the Clarks.... And any body who thinks Terry McCarl isn't going to rant and complain about that lame of a call just doesn't know Terry at all..... He is a very candid person and always says just says exactly what he thinks, right or wrong..... He can drive a race car and the races that he promotes are always entertaining.....
