Hawker

What is the track with the 8 car and old baby blue truck behind it? Looks high banked & fast.

Hawker - Those are some great pics, but you need to tell us who and where on a couple:

Is that Jimmy Boyd in the Western Mag Special? Where?

Where is the shot of GP in the 3c car from?

Where is the McSpadden pic from?

Awesome shots, where can we see more?

Paintboss, looking at the large fence in the background I'd say that has to be Eldora.

It looks to me like the shot of GP in the 3c car was at Knoxville during the Nationals.

Hawker, thats a pic I took of Tingelstad at Eldora in the 60's. The car was called the Dayton Racing Associates Spl. at that time. It was also the ex Sweikert car that Jerry Hoyt wrecked and it also became a Hoover Motor Express car for awhile before Tingey had it. Bud then sold the car to John Wergland and I lost track of it after that. I agree it is a beautiful thing.

You guys are idiots as now I am wanting too see more. Dayum you Hawker as those were awesome pictures. All of you keep it up. I could see these and Warren Vincents website all day long with the way the weather is outside.

Hey Hawker, I know the #86 car, Billy Vukovich, Jr. at Oklahoma City for the USAC/NCRA Dirt Champ car challenge races. Some of the best non-wing racing that four year series brought.

Sorry to say that I do not know where alot of the shots are from. They were taken by good people such as SteveE and other's and I have just "collected" them over the years.

GP is at Knoxville during the Nat's though, I know that much. To me, that picture captures the "moment" probably better than any shot I have ever seen.

I wonder where the Bubby Jones shot was taken at..... Most likely ASCOT...

I look through these pics and I have to laugh at the people on here that call them dinosaurs and that nonwing is going back in time. If that is the case then so be it, those were the greatest years in sprint car racing and in my book, it will NEVER be as good again.

GO WINGLESS when men drove with there head and foot and not the tires and wings . they drove with what they had never worried about things they couldn't control. I guess that why i am drawn to vintage racing and times long gone, THANKS ALL for the great pics. Lets keep them coming even just for memories.
