Spencer Clark stands out from the fendered world. Passed away this year after an accident driving his hauler back from North Carolina. Kid had a busch deal going.
Also Charlie Bradberry who died this year in a car accident had a busch deal going.
Both are huge losses.

Hey, Brad Doty people. He probably would have won a few championships and Nationals.
Wolfgang is already a legend but him not getting hurt would have opened more room for him to de thrown the King.
Oh, and if that Nationals had not fogged out with Mike Brooks leading he would have went on to WoO.

Hey, Petes_kid... you wouldn't happen to be Billy Casella or Mark Casella, would you? My father (John Byrd) was an owner (along with Pete Casella) of Dave Lundy's #2 sprinter.

Pete's Kid is actually Steve Swarmer son of the legendary Pete Swarmer who is a remarkable story for those that don't know it. Maybe the most quality person I've ever met in PA and certainly a name to drop to St. Peter at the pearly gates. Take It Easy....

How about Billy Vukovich III? Here was a young man from a prominent racing family that was just getting warmed up. Ran 3 Indy 500's with a 12th as his best finish. Went to the race track in the sky on November 25, 1990 after an accident in qualifying at a CRA event @ Mesa Marin Speedway. Some guy named Jeff Gordon won the feature that day. Hmmmm, wonder what ever happened to him?

Geez Mike! Thanks for the compliment. I just try and treat people like I would want them to treat me. There were many racers who left the sport before having a chance to showcase their talent to a lot of us fans. Some left by choice and unfortunately others were taken from us by fate.
I hope you are well and happy with your current situation. The older I get the more emphasis I place on happiness. We both know firsthand what time has done to our parents and we both did what I consider to be the honorable thing. That will serve us well in the future I suspect.
Folks.....I can tell you this about Mike. He has always been a very generous person and has done things for my fathers memorial race that I will remember to the end of my days. I don't always agree with everything Mike says, and I am sure he doesn't agree with everything I have said. Wouldn't it be a dull world if we all agreed on everything?

Pete, I wonder whatever happened to 'Charles'? Lively debate is good, opposite views are good and your great country was founded on similiar principles. We have a strong common denominator with regard to parents and that trumps anything sprint related on the real world.
Your Father's story is one that should be shared and I thought/think this is a thread to do so, don't be so modest and tell some of the folks in here what he overcame and how. Hope the holidays go well for you, Take It Easy....
