Gald to see brian26 posted those pics. I took those on a breezy cool day in a Amarillo junkyard. Randy Willingham and myself went out there to look at the car. The front was bent to the left as if it hit the outside wall pretty hard. It was pure greatness to see the car even in that state of shape. Will find my disc with a lot of pics of this car. Some of Jerry Stone, Dale Reed and a lot with Lyndon Moss.

Just loved the twin Webbers on the top. Made it a classy car.

I have talked to Perry a few times and he reads these pages often, he really likes to follow what is going on out there with the restorations. I never drove this car but was around it quite a bit and I do have a # for Lyndon Moss and I talked quite a bit to Jerry Stone last week. Some good pics would go a long way in making that car just right, can we get those photos from you?

No pics just yet, but it looks like the Hampton 94 has found a new owner in an old fan. Looks like the car is headed to SE but not too far south, closer to "Mooresville".

Plans are for a full up resto including the Webers! Many believe this car is of the upper echelon lineage of the NCRA supers, and that includes this writer!

ain't it cool!

The Shot Hampton #94 super modified car in now in Denver, North Carolina! As a Missouri native, I have personal memories of the car as I was in Tulsa in '74-'76 attending Spartan School of Aeronautics and I watched the car race and win an A Main one night in June of 1976. I still have that program with Jerry Stone on the cover! I'm looking forward to restoring the car and then bringing it back to display at the Hutchinson Nationals in KS and also the Chili Bowl in Tulsa one day. I'll post photos here as I progress with the car. I appreciate any info and pictures anyone can share to help me with the restoration. You can contact me at [email protected].

It looks as if it has been worked on considerably , how much is needed to finish it?

The pictures are a litte deceiving. It's going to need some rework of the restoration that's been started. In addition, I'm going to be looking for proper birdcages, rear torsion arms and stops, panhard bar, transmission (instead of in and out box), intake, carbs (Webers), shocks, hood, front motor plate and some decent Goodyear tires.

Perry,

I have the intake top that holds the two Weber 48's. The person I bought it from said that it came off of the 94.

The Weber setup is a signature piece of the cars history, even if they aren't used, I can't imagine the package being without as many original pieces possible.

Thanks for the pic! It will be helpful and has already answered a couple of my questions. Does anyone know what shade of red that the car was painted and what type of valve covers it had on it? A pic of the car without the wheels on it would really be helpful especially the rears.

Terry Tripp out of Amarillo. He owns the Harley-Davidson dealership here.

I helped "Zack" Zackula on this car in the middle and late 70's and I believe if you contact him he will tell you that the manifold that was on the car then was an Edlebrock cross ram that he moditied for the 2 48 IDA Webbers and it wasnt one of the chevy manifolds that had a removable top

I'll be attending the Tulsa Racers' Luncheon on Weds., Oct. 21st. If anyone who's coming has pics of the #94 Shot Hampton supermodified, please bring them with you! Would like to see them as they'll help me with the restoration.
