    You're correct, but like I said. I only went through the top 21. Then again, I'm not sure if Dobmeier lives in Grand Forks North Dakota, or East Grand Forks Minnesota, so that might mess up the Minnesota count as well.

      If you tallied up all the states represented (and at least one foreign country) you'd see more listed in Pennsylvania, Ohio, California and several other states. Maybe EZ2BEME or somebody could do that tally. Maybe he already has. I don't know. Imagine how many * would be required. Did a Canadian ever win a WoO feature?

    In the end, we're all sprint car fans. It doesn't make a lick of sense to break it down to teams of us verses them. We should be glad that we have a common interest.

"My team rocks, so your team must suck!". Whatever. The only problem I have with Pennsylvania sprint cars is that their season starts like, end of February, 1st part of March(?) Ours in South Dakota starts about never.

     My bad. I thought this was just a general interest / trivia thing, not an invintation to join in another worthless pissing contest.

From the WoO website, here are the totals of WoO final night feature wins per home state of the driver. To be honest, I only went through the top 20 (Top 21 actually, as #20 is a tie). This doesn't take into account a bunch of guys with just a handful of wins or less. Nor does it enter into the other pissing match about whether someone like Hodnett is, or is not Posse, blah, blah, blah.

Top 12 states:

      As you can see, Pennsylvania is solidly in the top 6. A more interesting data point (at least based op the top 21) is that North Dakota, South Dakota, Missouri, Minnesota and Connecticut totals are for one driver!

     Anyway, it's the internet and folks will need to point out where everything I've written is wrong.

Railfan33 you can rest assured there are, and always have been, more than a few people in the Philly area who know what a sprint car is.  And by the Philly area I am including the immediate suburbs, where those milliions of people you don't want to claim as living in 'central Pa', live.  Perhaps you have heard of Frankie Kerr, who grew up in one of those suburbs and started out driving a car from another.  Or maybe you've heard of Fred Rahmer, similar story there.  Damn, they might even have a victory or two against the WoO, whattaya think?  And there are quite a few more, and check this out, WoO didn't invent sprint cars, they were being raced in the Philly area long before Ted came along.

Ever heard of Hatfield, or Reading, East Windsor, Grandview, Vineland, or maybe Langhorne?  (All located in the Philly metro area, according to Wikipedia.)

Or are you one of those sprint car experts who never ventures outside of Pennsyltucky?

Lighten up Langhorne, just meant to be a light hearted comment. I know where Fred Rahmer lives, it ain’t Philly. When was the last time   Winged 410 sprints ran at Hatfield, East Windsor, Vineland, or Langhorne for that matter?

I was responding to a poster comparing the state population of Penna to that of Iowa. The point I was trying to make is, Posse country is generally considered an area limited to several counties in south central Pa, not the entire state. So the comparison, IMO, was apples to oranges and germaine to the discussion.

As to your last insulting question, I live in Mechanicsburg and have been attending races for over 50 years supporting local tracks primarily. I’ve been to Eldora, Knoxville, and head south to Volusia every February with my son. 

Oregon should have 1, shouldnt they?  Roger Crockett won a WoO race and I think he was from Grants Pass Or at the time.

MS 95 - I think you mean MO (Missouri).  MS is Mississippi.  I do not know how Missouri got MO but that has been around for many years, not just the 2 digit abbreviation years.  In the old days Mississippi was abbreviated Miss.

     In the interest of fairness and out of curiosity, I went through most of the rest of the winners' field and tried to talley the stats by state. Admitedly, it's hard to find where some of the drivers are from when you get down to the racers with one win. There's a dozen on the list I can't figure out where they are from and 4 I've never heard of.

(to anybody not from Iowa) Iowa has never been over populated with sprint car drivers, and that's a fact we've always lived with. But, we have the Knoxville Nationals, AND YOU DON'T!!!!    

Geographic boundaries of “Posse land” where the majority of owners and drivers reside is limited to 12 (arguably) counties in southeastern Penna. 2015-2016 population 2,528,095. I doubt anyone in Philly even knows what a sprint car is.
