Jarrett in 99 or 2000 won in a ford

That's right. I forgot about Jarrett in the Quality Car Care 88.  Kind of a neat looking car too.

.... as I have stated before, Nascrap fans would enjoy a picnic with my family along an Interstate counting the Wallyworld trucks that pass by

always was a Jarrett fan...

I was a NASCAR fan until I was able to drive myself to the real races. Lost interest in it due  watering it down with 1.5 mile tracks. The removal of North wilkesboro and Rockingham was a shame.

nascar used to have a cast of "characters" that kept me interested...jimmy spencer, rusty, the dales, Dave Marcus, Ricky Rudd you know....good old boys...well...they are all corporate puppets now.  Smoke is getting out...

its going to get even more boring

NASCAR is to stupid to realize it is not a stick and ball sport. If they want a championship "game" take the top 12 in points after the 36 race season and let just those 12 run another race. Winner is champ!

But the best way is the old way. Season long point champ is the champ.

Agree, go back to season long point champ. But just give out points to the top 15 for every race and make it a structure that benefits for winning or finishing in the top five.If you don't finish in the top 15 you should not get points.

I quit watching when Damica the Witch became an instant "star" in Nascar. I mean rave reviews.   For three consecutive weeks of racing, she was called a Nascar star when one of the "in the booth" or "pit road" announers talked about her.  Her a star?  Imagine the hundreds of open wheel drivers if given 1/4th the practice time in stock cars as she had and how much better they'd be doing today, competing for wins, finishing in top tens routinely, etc.  She never was a good driver.  Not stopping for fuel when the top 20 cars stopped for fuel/tires in an Indy Car race in Japan, Motegi I think,  followed by enough caution laps to allow her and a couple other bottom feeder drivers  to finish the race in front of the "big guys" in the field is the luckiest decision she/her crew ever made.  Her one lonely win.

Lawlessness and liberalism equals Hell. NY City,
Detroit, Seattle, Chicago, Minnepolis, etc. We saw it.
Burning hundreds of buildings, a thousand assaults and
dozens of murders. Getting worser and worser.

Larson proved your point! How many others are out there that could win in good equipment (which she has) if given a couple years on the circuit. Not just sprint & midget guys either, but probably some dirt and pavement late model drivers too.

I defended her at first, but there has not been any visible improvement yet.

Had watched the first few races in the Chase.  (Had a couple of cars in a local fantasy pool--Larson and Keso)  Haven't watched since they were both eliminated. Had some "fill-in" time between watching the terrible Chicago Bears and the Hockey game tonight.  So....Turned on the last half of the race and here's what I observed:

1.  Kyle Larson drove all the way from 20th and a lap down up to 3rd and fighting for the win.  Not mentioned one single time.  Why?  Because it's no longer important who is competing for a win when there are "Chasers" in the field.

2.  Alex Bowman had a chance to become an incredible story if he were able to go up there and win out of nowhere!  But wait......there is an incredible fight for 3rd, 4th and 5th.  Let's concentrate on 4th place for 30 laps and explain tie-breakers for 30 minutes.  There was actually a point where Kyle Petty suggested that Logano let Harvick go so he had time to pass Kyle Busch.  Are you shi%^ing me?   Why would any red-blooded racer let someone else go when they are fighting for the spot at the end of a race.

3.  Kevin Harvick doesn't care for Logano or Kyle Busch.  However, it became clear who he hates more.  He CLEARLY fell back in line behind Logano thinking he was screwing Busch out of a chance to advance.  No doubter.  Once again, why does a pass for 4th place matter two races from the end of the season?  Because of a pile of $hit points format.  Nascar has put themselves in a position for this type of situation.

4.  There were comments made about some of the non-Chase drivers staying out of the way of the Chase drivers.  Are you f%#&$g kidding me?   Why?  Every race shoud be about winning every race.  If I were out there, I would truly not care one bit where someone else was running in points. I wouldn't drive them dirty.....but I wouldn't just give em 30 feet and olay!

5.  Kyle Busch comes over the radio before a restart and asks Matt Kenseth to take the bottom lane so both cars can get into the final round at Miami.  Kudos to Matt for saying "NO".  Why?  Matt wanted to win the race!  What?  Win the race?  Good for him.  He didn't get the final prize this year but at least he did the right thing and fought for the win and not for the teamate bulls$%t!

Man I love sprint car racing.  They are there to win THAT race, every night.  At the end of the night, tally up the points.  None of this underhanded crap that goes on every Sunday.

I couldnt agree more, im just trying to act like i can find entertainment in this "chase" of points championship, listening to Kyle petty  deliberate on the "act" one driver that is not in chase has to deliver  to be sussessfull is embarrassing, "dont be part of the story"  really, this is exatly why i could give a shit less about,  nascar and thier endless changing of rules to accomidate thier lack of great racing ...   its terrible.. i guess thats what seperates alot of us Sprint Fans from Nascar. some of us see thro the marketing B.S. and still think the racing sux...

"don't be part of the story"  why would any racer take to the track with that attitude?  Buy a grandstand ticket.  Of course, if you are lapped traffic that is good advice, but if you are in the hunt you are cheating the fans and your car owner if you don't try to get what you can get.  I remember the good old days when points racing was called strokin' and being called a stroker was an insult.

Agree.   I spent many Saturday nights at my local track (before it was demolished) and I never remember one single car points racing.  Ever.  If they were, it was not obvious to anyone in the seats.

its a joke, i think nascar should load the other 30 cars and let the "real" contenders for the race run, lets see how many tickets you would sell?, im not sure if its the media or a couple specific comintators that are ruining it for many of us,  from a strange ponts program to masking a race within a race becomes too much , quite honestly im shooting for a upset or for something off the wall to happen, misfortune,  mech trouble,  ect, then maybe the storybook lines and race they wish to unfold will be completly impropt and i will respect that, otherwise the storyline,  points,  and racing in general is by far the worst on  broadcasting  IMO just too dam boring and predictable.... only thing worth tuning in for is Sterwart stepping off the wedding cake figures of nascar

Same as you and I. You don't have to have an Indy Car win to see that she sucks. And I don't get why she is such a big catch for nascar. (Spelled that lowercase on purpose. That's the disrespect I have for that series and it's management.) Anyway, she's no good. She's not even close to being hott. Her personality sucks. And girls don't even watch nascar. So I never understood how she is so "marketable" But something is obviously working cause she's still around.

Maybe part of the problem is the fact that the "other 30" don't have near the budgets as those multi car teams do. No different than in any form of auto racing.....he who has.....wins! That's just the way it is. And to add to that, NASCAR has gotten even more boring!

its lost its luster, and to those that are entertained by it I applaud you, because, I just cant see the value of entertainment off it ?  Ive watched as a child in the earlie to mid 80's, heck,  the earlie 90's wasnt too bad, as the ratings went up so did the in debth interest to what the fans wanted, even if they dont understand the consequences, it almost became a circus, just short of three rings and feeding a seal to a shark all the drama hype was there to diffuse the LACK OF GOOD RACING , every marketing sceme from a underqualified female to a rookie bashing fenders his first lap with  novice drivers, sure, now some will say thats racing, right? big money teams, excelled tallents, great pit crews, rookie drivers, females, there is other divisions of nascar that one could crawl up thro and not on a "next big thing " schedule  it seems too many are willing to buy in the attempt for someone to be as great as few drivers have been in the past , my point being not everytone that straps on a helmet is going to be Jeff Gordon,Tony Stewart ect ect , the fans are hungry for the next best thing and they dont care how stupid they look rooting for a dud  IMO and,  we all have one,..   I dont buy it, its all marketing for ratings and the racing still sux,
