Much ado about nothing. Provisionals are a thank you to those who loyally support the series or track they are at, and the amount a team can use is linited. If you want the B-Main cars to start at the back, then you should start the heats straight up from time to make it fair.

Since only those who are full time platinum WoO member get tow money I would say that is their reward for following the series. And they are also the only to get point money. If you race 100% of the WoO shows but do not sign a contract you get neither. So provisionals are not a thank you for showing up at all the series events.
Maybe they should just change the format to the WoO regulars tt and that lines up the first 6 or so rows of the A then everyone else can run heats and B's to determine the rest of the A!

The thing that really sucks is that the WoO rule for provisionals is designed to benefit the high dollar teams. Here's why....the rule allows the highest current points driver to use a provisional. The highest points drivers are usually the ones with the most money (look at the standings year in and year out)....so....when a couple of the top dollar teams who are among the higher points driver with the WoO couldn't make it out of the B Main at the Open, drivers that actually ran in the LCS that didn't transfer were by-passed because they had fewer season points. Here's what sucks about that....the teams that were in the LCS were not only cheated out of an A Feature start and money....they were cheated out of points that would have helped them to close the points gap on the teams that did unfairly get the spots. Screw the points standing for provisionals!!! Give them to the highest performing driver(s) each night. Too damn bad if a "money" team has a problem! The underdog should get a break sometimes!

It's not as though they have unlimited provisionals, nor are they only available to Outlaws.
When you give the drivers as crappy a track as they had on Sunday for time trials, it's good to have a backup. It's not like they get paid for those positions. The only money they make is if they get up to 16th place.

Good points here , Grove has not been good all year ,very inconsistent . It maybe one reason car counts are dropping among other reasons , whoops , not complaining just stating FACTS HERE .

The lack of logic in this post is mind blowing. Just for grins, how many times did Kasey Kahne's teams use a provisional versus the number of time the guys at Shark Racing did?

Damn good thing then that they do do to tracks where they can't even get a full field.

It's always comical at all the complaining that goes on about the WOO. But they still draw the biggest crowds, pay the best purses, and is where the vast majority of all drivers and teams would like to be.

It's not my fault if you don't see the logic. That KKR uses rare provisionals doesnt mean crap. If you get out ran at an event you should not get a provisional! Provisionals should be for those with the best performance on any given night, not a guarantee that the money teams will have a spot should they have a problem. Who is more deserving? A full time team that is underfunded or a team with deep pockets? The Open was a fine example. There was no need for those guys guaranteed a provisional that were in the C Main to use up their equipment by trying to come through the C...then the LCS in order to make the Feature.

Then shouldn't all WoO regulars be in every A main by your logic? And shouldn't all locals get to run the A also for spending the money and supporting the local track all season that is hosting the WoO? Heck, let's get all PC and give all drivers a trophy at the end of the race too!
Provisionals let teams use the B main as a test session cause they are in the A no matter where they finish while other guys have to race their ass off for a transfer spot or they don't get to run the A.
Actually I thought the tow money was what you got for loyalty and following the WoO all season.

does anyonehave an estimate of "tow" money for the year of a woo team? great point, race you're way in...
Ascot was the greatest of all time..
West Capital wasn't half bad either..
Life is good...

I did not read one post. Provisionals help the drivers that run the whole series. Stop arguing about it.

Not nearly as comical as the amont of of shilling and ass-kissing that goes on on the Outlaw threads.

The logic was so flawed that you changed your arguement? First, you said that provisionals favor the high dollar teams at the expense of the low dollar teams. However, when it was pointed out that the low dollar Outlaw teams utilize the provisionals more than the high dollar Outlaw teams, your response was "That KKR uses rare provisionals doesnt mean crap" You really need to pick a lane and stick with it.
Provisionals reward the teams with the best overall performance for the entire season. Not the teams with the best performance that night that did not quailfy. This is also true for the provisionals that the track gets to reward. The track is picking the best peformers through out the season.
I understand that you don't like provisionals. However, your arguement that they favor one group over the other is simply wrong.
