well with the recent rain there is literally a lake inside of cedar lake speedway as the entire infield is under water, looks like it will be a taking and fast track
|
Hey, I just saw pics of the CLS infield on 20/20, they must have got a ton of rain over there. We can't be far behind what they got here in Forest Lake as the sump is still running and there's water in the back yard. CLS might have to pump water out of the infield this week to hasten the drying.
Remember one of the first years of the Princeton Nationals when 3 & 4 was under water? They pumped water into the parking lot and got the track and infield in shape in time for the races. Not sure if that lower campground at CLS is still blocked off but they've a big holding pond down below the level of that road so they can pump into there if they have to. The forecast is for four days of sunshine so they'll be fine come Friday night.

You better use the tubing deal this weekend. Mid 80's in the forecast and September can be a bit chilly. I'm not even sure if they places are open that late in the season. I haven't tubed the Apple in 30 years.

Thanks Stan, I will look in to it. Hoping to track you down some time this weekend.

I'm usually in the pits before the races and in the infield during. I won't be there Friday because the daughter's fiance's band is opening for Alien Ant Farm and the family is going. Could end up at the all night after party and at a couple months short of my 64th that could wipe out Saturday racing. Sunday for sure, will do my best to be there Saturday but if there's an opportunity to jam with the band after the gig all bets on racing are off.

The forecast for Saturday has taken a turn for the worse. Might not be a Sunday night at CLS. Friday night I will be at Dodge County Fairgrounds for the IRA, which is always fun.

I have been keeping an eye on that as well. Too early to know the details but I don't like to see any % in the advance outlook. CLS is pretty much one of the few places I even go anymore. Used to chase around following races but now I wait for them to come to me.

weather forecast looks a lot better for both saturday and sunday now! looking at only a 20% chance so there's a 80% chance of racing!

The percentage has been flip flopping all week but I had heard anything that passes through would be scattered and not an all day/night deal.

Agreed, I'm becoming more confident that they will get both nights in. Rico Abreu and Brian brown will both be there as well. Rico is running tomorrow night at Dodge County Fairgrounds with the IRA.

Last nights show was really good. About 45 sprints between the non wings and the UMSS. The infield was drained and the track was lighting fast. One of the Kennedys from Canada won it.(Cant remember if it was father or son) I had not been to a UMSS in a few years because of the lack of competition but was very impressed with a vast improvement. Weather looks good for today ( not so much for tomorrow) and we should see close to 75 spints here tonight.

Knoxville just canceled so that should bring up some more teams for tonight. Maybe Heskin, The Dude, and Tmac.

Brooke posted on Facebook that they're on their way. I think they keep the car at his place here in Forest Lake so basically they're heading home which they would have done anyways. Likewise Heskin, one of my favorites as well. One of my second cousins is married to one of his crew guys so I've got one from here in the neighborhood to root for and one connected by relation. Can't go wrong, I better shower and get going.

Damn, wish I was going to this race even more now with the fact K'ville cancelled and some of their regulars deciding to come up. Haven't been to CLS in about 6 years. Hope its a great weekend of racing as a few of my racing buddies are headed there. Alas, Knoxville Nationals week is only a month away.
