When did Roth win a WoO championship? I've forgotten some shit but I must have forgotten that one. He did win the NST championship with Lostnutski I do remember that. Ironically TK should have one that one because he won more races than anyone else - 15 on that season on that tour.
|
Ah the old points system debate again. Lasoski won ten races that year and the title. Yes, TK won more races, but he also finished at the back more than the 83. Bottom line is the Roth 83 and Lasoski have had a lot of success together in the past (including the Knoxville Nationals win and an NST title) and have stayed good friends. Which is why Mr Roth put Lasoski in the car again. If they have a good weekend, it wouldn't surprise me to see them team up again for the rest of the year. Speaking of TK, why did he leave that ride?

He won 15 yes but how many cars did he tear up in the other races?
I don't aim to please.
I aim to hit the target.

Honestly - I don't know but he was driving for Steve Kinser. You ever have that opportunity, fucktard? Yeah - I didn't think so....

i actually don't remember tim tearing up a bunch of stuff that year. he finished third in points and should have been at least second but if i remember got DQ'd from a good finish one night for being someething like 50 lbs light. from what i understand no one could figure that out since the car had met weight the whole night.
to indy and beyond!!

I'll through in my two cents. Please don't bash me for speaking my mind.
It sucks TK had the problems he had, as we all know in this day and age, he was the best sprint car driver Cali had to offer. We all know something changed from last year to this year. TK set fast time several times and won 9 woo races plus a handful of other races around the country in 2013. This season they were flat-off-the-pace in qualifying. TK drove the wheels off of what he had, to charge from the back pack to a top 5 or 10 in several races, but the engines were not what they had last season, and the Roth 83 suffered greatly in qualifying. Even his teammate Kyle Hirst with TK's latyear engines out-qualifyed him in several of the Cali races. If he car, engines, driver team and equipment are not up to par. why should Dennis keep it on tour? Park it, and send Kyle Hirst to the Kings Royal and the Knoxville Nationals with lastyears engines in the 83.
I wish the Roth 83 the best in the future.

Jason Solwold would be the best driver available for the 83 ride

The year TK teamed up with the king he got the used stuff on a regular basis, it was a struggle but he was at his prime then and winning 15 races was amazing under the circumstances.....Yes I know his 'extra' stuff was still better than most others 'good' stuff...I had a real good talk with him that year at the Kings Royal, few people have such a twinkle and excitement in their eyes when talking about racing like Tim Kaeding, one of the most exciting drivers to ever strap in, ever!

I can't believe the negative comments about Dennis Roth. He has fielded teams, out of his own pocket, FOR YEARS!!!
I guess it is either jealousy on the part of the poster or they are Stewart fans and still smarting because of Roth firing him and rightfully so based upon his performance!
I should be so lucky as to have two teams running both local and nationally and not having to worry about finding sponsors. YOU should be too!!!!
Since he is the one paying the bills he can put his "driver of choice" in his cars as well as park them should he choose to do so.
I'm just glad he continues to provide racing teams for our enjoyment. Guys like Dennis Roth are few and far between.

Problem is there aren't enough people like Dennis and Terese Roth. They may do things that sometimes make us question their choices but the sport would not have been near the same if they we're part of it.
They don't need to do any of it. Be damn thankful they do.

If I had the money to field an Outlaw team, I would hire whoever I wanted and not give two sheets what you all thought. I might just hire Lance Blevins or Dion Hindi just to give the message boards something to talk about.

You hit the nail on the head! Name one owner who has spent as much money for as many years out of their own pockets as the Roths! Devoted sprint car owners like this are very very far and few between! Thank You Dennis and Teresa Roth!

Why not hire Tyler Walker so the boards would really light up.

I'm not trying to argue the Roth point, I also think he's done a ton for the sport with his money. Lonnie Parsons, who a couple of years ago did retire from car ownership, but he owned and funded the Casey General store team for years and from what I've read in previous posts about him, out of his own pocket, he is or was an executive for Casey's but paid for the WoO car himself and put Casey's name on it. Like I said not bashing or detracting from Roth, just naming another owner that dug deep into their pockets for the sport.

Yes. Good example but for a variety of reasons Lonnie will go down in history as a better car owner and one of the reasons is the ability to put together a program that allows his team to compete an entire season. Whether it be an entire WoO, NST, or Knoxville season Lonnie's teams have always stayed the course. You can't say that about Dennis and I have been watching him field cars since the early '90's. Dennis is a good guy and outside of this criticism you won't hear me say anything bad about him. I cringed when it was announced that TK would run for the WoO championship for Dennis. I think a lot of us did. If Lonnie Parsons had lost a driver for - whatever the reason - he would have found a way to complete the season and at least compete for the owner's championship. Karl Kinser did it in '97 when Mark got injured and denied Sammy the owner's championship. Dennis has done a lot for this sport there is no question about it but he, like all others, is not immune to criticism.

I can see Steve saying that put primarily in jest. He caught so much shit for not fielding another car for TK that he towed one to california at the the start of the next WoO season and TK waxed his ass again before the car was parked!

Reliable or not it would not surprise me. Standard Dennis Roth behavior.
|
Go out and buy yourself a Sprint Car team and show us what standard theadkillllller behavior looks like.
People can spend their money anyway they see fit. Who are we to call them out on it? LOL
