I'll take Lincoln, SSP and Path Valley over Williams Grove, Port and Selinsgrove each and every week...

I love all racing, I do not like when the the winner starts from the front. I have heard many drivers complain about rubbered up, freight train racing on the bigger tracks. I may be different then most fans, I do not have a favorite driver, like them all. I was happy to see Alan Krimes win Saturday, but I would have been as happy if Will Rose would have been able to hold him off. I think that why Lincoln is better, almost anyone could win with the right chain of events happen. This is not a knock on any track, I hit 65-75 races at many different tracks, I just want to see good, close, edge of your seat racing. I will say I think the fastest cars at Lincoln were Robbie Kendall and Brian Monteith ( after he flipped)

to willf270,I was refering to back in 1960s n 1970s port used to handicap the cars more so ,cause the fast cars used to start close to the consi cars, well that was to much of a handicap, the guys complained to management so they relaxed the handicaping and now the faster cars n owners got there own way and they came up with this draw for positions, deal.I just think it would make better racing if they handicapped the cars a little more at port.(port royal is a very fast track)................. THATS WHY IT IS CALLED THE SPEED PALACE...........

Outta of all the stories that could be written about Lincoln last Saturday, the fact that the winner came from thirteenth was at the bottom of the list...Shoot, I could write four stories alone reguarding Monteith...
Opinions may vary...

Lincoln is my favorite by far. IMHO it has the best racing as well as the best view of the track, up close. I take Port next followed by Selinsgrove, Williamsgrove brings up the rear for me, the main reason if you don't have reserved seats the view of the back stretch sucks, all you see is wingtips.

Hodnett passed lots of cars a couple of years ago to win Speedweek race at Port...it was exciting
Wish I lived closer so I could have an opinion on this. Been to Lincoln only once. like 'em both

To portfan1, Last week was a crazy week @LIncoln. There must have been a full moon, because the night was not a typical Saturday @ Lincoln. But if you check results from years past, you will find most every race is won by a car back in the starting lineup. very seldom does anyone win from the pole. When I was a kid at Nazareth the top point guys were place just before the consi cars, in reverse order. Number 1 in points got you 18 starting place and so on. Most of the time that was Cagle, Carter and the like, most of the time they were in top 5 at the end. I agree that nine of the top 10 dropped out, but some came back and charged to the front. Again what ever track you like doesnt matter, just support it. I stopped going to modified races long ago because the tracks can't get along. What is nice about Lincoln, Wayne willtell you who won at Port,Gove, or Trailway. Who else does that?

I didn t start this, the goofy lincoln guys started this track bashing,Im a port guy, been going there for 50 years, maybe port is taking some of there cars , maybe thats why they started track bashing port royal, the new management is really doing a good job,I personally know some of the guys running port now, the are a fine group of gentlemen, instead of those guiys bashing other tracks it would be better if the tracks worked together, theres enough cars for both tracks, but I dont want to be on here and listen to some guy bashing our track, like I said if you like bull ring racing go to lincoln if you like big track racing go to port royal.on a bigger track you can get the cars spread out some times, I do understand that concept, but I have seen some very good racing at port, but on a bull ring you have the opportunity to get wrecked more often, because you are in lapped traffic all nite long.I said before I do like a little handicaping but maybe the first 8 or 9 cars start on there average points that qualify in the heats, and maybe pay a little more bonus like the grove if you win from farther back in the field...............

to willf270, to one of your responses, well yes a guy from lincoln won starting back farther in the field because they handicap, I undertstand that,if port would handicap the same thing would happen there, the winner would come from back in the field, because your faster cars start back in the field, when you handicap,Im all for handicapping but it seems the drivers at port want to draw for positions.

Portfan1 I am not bashing, i like both tracks, its just Lincoln is closer to home. As far as a bull ring, that usually is refered to 1/4 mile tracks. How many 3/8 and smaller tracks do WoO run on? Plenty. In my 50 plus years of going to races I have always prefered the 4/10 or 3/8 mile tracks because of the closer racing. Port hasn't reall taken any Lincoln cars. Marks said he was going to travel, and Ryan Smith said he was going to bounce, so each track has there core of drivers. I know in the past Port and Lincoln did not schedule bigger shows against each other, seems like that has ended this coming May. I hope that isn't a trend that will continue, it gave each track a chance to see other drivers. Good luck to both tracks. Funny how there is more talk about Port and Lincoln then WG.

I go to Port Royal much more than I do Lincoln, but I like both tracks the same and the racing the same. Because of the size difference, the racing is going to be somewhat different. Just as Jeremy said, the racing last week behind Dale Blaney was fantastic. Many of those drivers (Layton, Lafferty, Heimbach, Dave Blaney, Esh, Wagner, etc.) passed each other multiple times. If Heimbach had a little more time, he would have been better than 8th. It took a while for his car to "come in."
While I don't think Hodnett would have beaten Blaney, it would have been nice for just one caution to see what would have happened. Trying to beat Dale Blaney starting from the pole in a non-stop race when he was SUPER FAST would be very hard for ANY sprint car driver.

I like both tracks, but prefer Lincoln over Port. I like Lincoln because the racing is closer. Meaning they dont really get strung out to far. Does it happen yes but not like it does on the Big 1/2 miles. Lincoln the lapped cars play more of a factor in the outcome of a race. Meaning if someone does get a 1/2 lap advantage the lapped cars tend to hold them up more and the rest of the field can catch back up. I go to W.G. for my big track fix and go to Lincoln on Saturday for the smal track wheel to wheel racing. I don't like to see the same type of race twice in one weekend. Port is definitly making steps in the right direction, and seeing that I will be making more trips up there this year than in years past. Now if only W.G. would get with the program and sink some of that Moldy Money back into the joint. All would be right in the PA racing scene.

One final comment on this: we should be glad we have tracks to debate I've, so many places had tracks closed on have no track close to them. I am fortunate I have 3 tracks within 20 min drive and 2 more within 2 hr drive. So which ever track we all prefer, we are in better shape then most people.

I moved to PA from GA in 2008, and it still amazes me that these 2 tracks, 60 miles apart, can both draw full fields+ of 410s for regular Saturday night shows. It is great to be a sprint car fan in PA!

That says it all! I live in Colorado with no sprint racing (except ocasional 305s) & I'm thrilled to visit the East Coast every summer. Just wish dear old Mom (91 & going strong) lived in Pa. instead of Connecticut.... then I'd be at the races every weekend

Yes Jim Seigel won from the front row, but this was a TT show with an invert-not unexpected results.
