I'm not quite sure about 100 horses, but I'd say very substantially more.

The 430 days were back in the 80's if correct , Hell with Technology advancements would say it is a whole bunch more than a 100.
Would it be fair to say 360 are even more horses now than some of those 430's back then?

Oh yeah, as I've mentioned before on another board that I looked at an engine sheet from 1986 when we did Haud's engines (408 cubes) and it was in the 640's for power. Our new ASCS 360's are 660 hp's.

Kelly have you all had a 410 get into the 900 HP range? and down the road with technology and advance stuff in Race Motors could the 1000 HP be possible in a Sprint Motor?

Not yet JD but were getting close. We could easily get to 900 with a cam change, BUT then the thing would be undrivable. Were dirt track racing where we need the engine to be drivable, not drag racing where we just mash the gas for a few seconds.
1000 horsepower for a sprint car? I'd say yes eventually but I'm not sure in our lifetime.

I see what your saying on 1/4 and 3/8 and 4/10 tracks but what about Knoxville and places like Port Royal and Selisngrove would they be undriveable at these larger tracks as well, they have wide sweeping turns and long straightaways , Just curious.

Kelly, Seen a post on a Pa. site about just this subject and how Don Ott has now got a motor that can get around 950 HP range for the larger Pa. tracks , does not say which ones , They say it is not the one Rahmer ran last year at Knoxville but a different one. Could it be driveable on a big track ?

All dyno's read different. You can make a dyno read what ever you want for HP it is a calculated number. A lot of engine builders numbers are inflated 75 to 100 HP over what they actually make. They use it as a selling tool against a engine builder that doesn't inflate their HP numbers. I would say Wesmar's numbers are real numbers and not inflated. Don't know about the rest of them.

If you don't know about the rest of them(Engine Builders) ,then how do you know they inflate the numbers , that statement does not make sense, Sure all dyno's read different , the environment IE: Temperature , Humidity , Barometric pressure can make a difference in HP and that is just for starters in the equation, but to say they inflate there numbers is a pretty bold statement ,especially when you say your not sure about the rest of them at the end of your statement.

BigDog thanks for the compliment. Actually I've gotten into this debate before numerous times and I don't want to stir the pot anymore.
All I will say on this subject is that if JKL engine builder is getting 75-80 horsepower more than LMN engine builder shouldn't JKL be dominating night in and night out?
Same scenario with our ASCS legal engines, ours make 660-665 on our dyno. Every year about 360 Nationals time we here that LMNOP engine builder is getting 725 horses out of there's. If that is the case then why aren't they lapping our shit? Ok, nuff said!

HEY KELLY, I KNEW BOB WHEN HE WAS WITH BEADLE HERE IN DALLAS.
MY QUESTION IS IF THERE IS A FORMULA FOR SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE FUEL INJECTION MANIFOLD FOR A PARTICULAR ENGINE COMBINATION ?
WE HAVE A 368 CID MAX W/BRODIX SPEC. A HEAD THE SAME AS IN OKC, BUT WE RUN AT DEVIL'S BOWL. WE ARE USING A 2 7/16 INTAKE MANIFOLD AND I CAN'T HELP BUT THINK THAT'S A LITTLE LARGE . ANY INFO YOU COULD SHINE ON THIS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED !!!!!

2 7/16" is fine, I wouldn't go any bigger than that though. I'm having a brain fade, but don't you have to sleeve them down to 2 3/16"? If so then your fine.
