I've been with SC&M since day one and I've gone back and forth on Flat Out. One of my friends said to me, "you still read SC&M, it's for old guys and Donnie Shatz fans.." and that stuck with me because lately that's been kind of true. I was going to let my SC&M subscription lapse, but in the end Kevin Olson's articles are just too good to give up.
After a two year hiatus I'm digging Flat Out once again. I also prefer Flat Out's pavement coverage.
I say get both. At the end of the day we need to support the magazines (and websites like Hoseheads) that are trying to make a living bringing us sprint car information in a timely manner.

Hey Chilly...
Yah, you're right, Eckert is back in the pages of FlatOut and we're very proud to have him. Just putting the finishing touches on the next issue next week (Hall of Fame issue) and I know you're only saying those nice things because of those sweet dishes (or was it towels? candlesticks?) we sent for your wedding last October.
Personally, I'd encourage fans to subscribe to both mags - make a great gift for Mother's or Father's Day.
FlatOut Magazine - www.threewidemedia.com
Sprint Car and Midget Magazine - www.sprintcarandmidget.com
All good things,

I also get both and can't really say a bad word about either. They both have their own flavor. SC&Midget utilizes more color in it's photography. Flat Out seems to cover more regional local talent along with the national stars. Both have great writers. Flat Out is bi-monthly whereas SC&M is monthly.
You can't go wrong either way in my opinion. If you can, get both as mentioned above. If not, flip a coin and place your order.
If I had to select one over the other. I'm not sure what I'd do. Probably flip a coin. LOL

I wish Flatout would go monthly, I like the traditional, local ,regional racers featured , Although Sc&M is much enjoyed as well , I like to see the typical blue collar racers , Sc&M seems to taylor to the high dollar teams (dont get me wrong) I just preferr the underground the not so popular side of things , I do get both subscriptions and quickley sit down in the recliner imedialtley after checking the mailbox and "see whats new" in both reads
