I have only been to two Nationals and the Eldora Sprint Million and all of that was twenty years ago. What is a "true Sprint Car fan" and how can the millions of us who can't afford a week long trip to Iowa become one? I have been doing my best to be a "true Sprint Car fan" since 1960 and am apparently doing it all wrong. Please elaborate on how we can all become true fans like you.

Don't take it so personal Stan...
I'm sure you'd love it if you had a free plane ticket & lodging, right?
I'm in the same boat... only been to 2 races so far this summer (one trip, 2 races) & hoping for at least one more trip. But we both see a lot on PPV, so count your blessings

There have been some really good races on PPV lately, but my main gripe is that you can only watch what the cameraman picks, can't see guys fighting their way from the back..... live, you're whipping your head back & forth trying to watch all the battles... sensory overload, like playing a pinball game on multi-ball (for all us old timers!)
Plus the "fragrance" of burnt methanol!

Some people don't understand. This year due to a few things I am unable to make the Nationals. I made it for 5 races last week in Ohio. The Doty Classic was awesome! The 3 of the 4 races at eldora were equally as good. The only one I would call a snoozer was the one they raced saturday morning due to the rain Friday night. Marks winning the two big shows was the highlight for me!
Next year we will be going to the Nationals and not Eldora. Just because you can't make it to the track doesn't mean you are not a TRUE fan.
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

Good lord people. He didn't say you weren't a "true fan" if you did't show up in person at the Nationals. He simply said if you're a fan there is nothing like the experience of being there to experience the atmosphere in person. Wow. Talk about thin skin.

Luckily I have made every race at Knoxville this year with the exception of last Saturday. Was just too damn tired to make the drive and I had the Kings Royal & Knoxville on DirtVision.

Thank you! I'm glad someone finally said it.
Now lets get back to the topic at hand, which is the entries for the 410 and 360 Knoxville Nationals.

Not sure I'm a huge fan of the exception knoxville has made for Timms. Unless they decide to lower the age across the board, doesn't seem fair to any other 15yr old.

I'm okay with this. Obviously he can more than handle is own, and ultimately that is what the rule is for. There are not too many 15-16 years, however there are probably more now than even 10 years ago, that are capable with the popularity of karts.

I don't recall the entry list ever being this low with just three weeks to go. Are there still 60 teams out there that have not signed up?

Because i have nothing better to do, I looked up last years entry thread. The closest update to todays day last year was July 21. At that date we had 49 410 entries and 51 360 entries.
Knoxville is getting way more 410s this year than last so we'll get close to 100 im sure. Lots more entries to come.

Up to 55 this morning, so we're official ahead of last year's pace.

Knoxville will do anything that they can to try to get a few more people to come to the limited fake nationals. Timms may draw from 15-20 friends and relatives to the races. As of today, they have sold less than 400 tickets for the Saturday night race.

I'm surprised they have pre-sold that many for Saturday Night, But I'll guarentee you they will have a hell of a Crowd.
Looking forward to the 360 Nationals

People know they don't have to buy in advance to get a good seat. 80-90% of regular WoO races are bought day of. Theyll still get 6-8k in the stands.

I've been going to the 360 Nats and 410 Nats for many years, all nights, and can confidently say that overall the crowd has progressively gotten larger, each year, during the week of the 360s.
