I know I'm going to sound stupid here. Just asking cause I don't know and am just curious I guess. Is this Chip Ganasi's rule? Or the sponsorship bligations? I guess I just don't completely understand why? If he can fly or get back to the Cup track in time, what's it matter? Why limit the races he can run?

I think they started this when Kyle had a bad wreck in a wingless sprint car, which they won't let him drive at all any more. Its more than just showing uo in time, its risk of injury too
If you recall last summer, after a great qualifying nite at Knoxville, Ganassi let him race Saturday after big popular demand on Internet....

I wussed out, even tho airfares & hotels were still cheap yesterday.
