Did everybody forget about Ascot and Manzi as the best tracks that are gone now.

We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

I, too, loved Ernie Purcell Speedway in Grass Valley.  Moved up here in '85 from SoCal and started racing the little dog-leg red clay in '87 but not in the sprints, but in the LM class.  It was a perfect example of a small local track that put around 1,300 people in the stands Saturdays.  That was in a town of less than 10,000.  Low key, 11 p:m: curfew, time to get a pizza and a beer at Mountain Mike's and get the kids home and in bed by midnight.  Track was club run but, sadly, the fair board decided to close it in '95.  Some of the fans/racers still won't go to the fairgrounds.  I and my son are still racing but now it's a one to three hour ride each way to the tracks.

Of the tracks that I have been too:

1. Limaland 2. Attica 3. Atomic 4 Lawrenceburg 5 Knoxville

Hoping to get to Waynesfield this year for speedweek although it has been on my to do list the past 4 years. Now that I have been to Knoxville for the Nationals the next thing on the wish list is to go to an Outlaw race at River Cities.
