just heard Terry mccarl is in duluth so i would assume that means he will be racing at amsoil tonight and cedar tomorrow.  Tonight will give a decent idea of how many ira guys will be at cedar though and you can add a couple others like reinke too for tomorrow.

I'm guessing 30 for the 410's and the 360's probably in the 18-20 range unless there are some surprises I haven't heard about.  The non-wing have been doing well so I'm guessing they'll be around 20 or slightly over as everyone with a car will come out for this one.

I'd never make any guarantees or get in a pissing match over car counts but there will be enough cars and old friends around to make the evening a success.  Some people make too much of a deal over who's coming and how many cars there will be.  Racing is always a fun night out and dirt tracks can be fickle so there are going to be some great races and some not so great.  If a person chases these cars long enough they're going to see just about every end of the spectrum.  CLS is always good racing and I'm sure that Bob and Butch will have to track in great shape tomorrow night.

interesting night last night, 28 nosa and 21 at superior for the ira.  was interesting to see dobbmeier run extremely rough (punting nikitenko in the heat and then flipping on the next restart) and to watch kennedy lap up to seventh. as from what i heard balog raced extremely rough for the win in superior (wasn't there so idk).  from what i also saw out of the 21 cars in superior 9 were travelers/non normal ira drivers with  some rather big names there (mccarl and madsen). kinda disappointed with the ira only bringing 12 cars to soup but tonight will be a good night to be at cedar lake and river cities

I was in the infield so I only heard the 410 count was 27.  The 360s lost one in challenge race and Ron Erickson knocked the front end out.  Didn't think to see if they got it back out for the Feature but looked like 17 started so my 18 guess was close.  No B for the Traditionals but looked like around 20 started the Feature.  Brooke had some terrible luck.  Blew the motor in Duane's car while leading the 360 Feature.  Running a solid 2nd in the 410 Main, blew a tire and slapped the wall.  Madsen was going on rails, nobody had anything for him.  Superior Friday counts are always a bit of a challenge and a half dozen or more that weren't at Souptown show up on Saturday.  Overall it was a fun night and the races were entertaining.

welp that was another fun weekend has come and gone.  seitz was interesting to watch being my first time out at river cities.  general thoughts: the track is awesome, very racey and allowed for some great racing. food is a bit overpriced for concession stands but it was pretty good.  place was packed and had a good atmosphere for racing.

race review: friday night was the better of the two nights in my opinion.  i might be slightly biased as i wasn't a huge fan of the caution fest on saturday or farming the track at 1 in the morning.  left the track saturday around 230ish and midnightish on friday.  it was interesting to see a 305 hold its own on friday night before spinning out on the last lap in the bmain.  as for saturday, cautions aside it was really cool to see dobmeier win it from the back row. between him and kennedy there was an extremely frantic pace to get to the front.  i believe if i heard right dobbmeier is the first one to win the $8,200 back row challenge which is pretty cool.  all in all it was a good trip. onto iowa now lol

2 30 am is too late , with the 92 lap race 35 lap sprint race should have cut a couple classes,  wasnt 8200 enough for a heavy hitter to head north ? most outlaw wins are 10,000 ? once the race got going it was good took awhile though

while i agree with you there is some interesting back stories as to why the certain classes ran that weekend.  john seitz raced street stocks, b mods, mods, and late models...so essientially those classes should stay...meaning that the sprints would be the odd class out.  so i won't complain that they got to race this weekend.  personally i dislike bmods so those would be my choice to drop but oh well.  as far as travelers coming up, ya i was surprised to see that none of the big hitters came north, bickett made a long haul but besides him there wasn't really much there for travelers
