1978, Kinser won 1st WoO race at Devil's Bowl in Tejas. I guess Sammy wasn't there, cause he won the first 2 races he entered, later that year

Maybe they raced vs. each other before, anyone know?

Sammy finished 4th in the first WoO race

Turns out its both...

It clearly states Boyd won 1st WoO race. I must have been reading in a hurry

But then it says: "Another legend in the making, Sammy Swindell, wins the first two “A” Features of his Outlaws career." ...

????

I can't type either: not "ot", "or"

Favre, really seems the man had his world turned upside down, kid got hurt at the race he retired right after, wife left him for a short time.seem fans are quick to offer shit? But Kevin's on the way, back!Sammy and  wife are better, things like Kevin's deal leave you thanking a lot about life, but you all mite know that if you got your head out of this smack talking bull shit site, one mistake and some of you jump like a pack of mad dogs, so please have at it? That other guy mist the dam e on the end and all the English teachers are on the spot!

Easy dude. I don't give a single fuck how many times someone retires and comes back. I love watching the old veterans take on the young guys and I REALLY love when they show the kids how it's done. If Steve comes back and runs a race somewhere down the line, I'll be one of the happiest people in the room. I was just saying that Kinser never announced a retirement from racing, just the WoO. And by the way, Kevin didn't get hurt until after Sammy came out of retirement. Sammy was actually racing that night and he stayed and raced after they transported Kevin because he really wanted to win it for him.

I hope Steve puts a car on the WoO tour next year and hires Tyler Walker, he's a very deserving driver that just can't catch a break these days!

do it in the dirt

Actually fiXXXer, Kevin was hurt on Thursday night of the 2015 nationals and Sammy didn't announce his retirement until after nationals. I do agree with that they can retire twice a week if they want to but I will just enjoy them racing whenever I can. They don't make em like that anymore.

No sir, Sammy announced his retirement in August of 2014. Check the date on this article. http://www.mrn.com/Race-Series/World-of-Outlaws/News/Articles/2014/08/Sammy-Swindell-Retiring-From-Full-Time-Racing.aspx

Actually I think both you and Oppermanfan are each right and each wrong to a degree. In 2014 Sammy announced he was retired from full time racing. His plans as it came out was to run around 50 shows a year in the Big Game car. What he stated in August of 2015 was that he was flat retired form racing, with the exception of his midget car and the Chili Bowl. I'm working from memory here, so you may want to dig deeper in to Sammy's statements and subsequent interviews over those times in '14 and '15.

He definitely didn't retire last year. If you remember correctly, he filled in for Jason Johnson after Jamie Veal left and then he started driving for CJB around mid way through last season and has been with that team running the true outlaw deal ever since. Either way, the retirement I was speaking of was definitely in 2014 when he said he was done except for maybe the Chili Bowl. Honestly, it doesn't really matter because Sammy is fucking awesome and he's still out there kicking the asses of dudes who are half his age. The man is amazing no matter how many times he "retired".

You're right. I had 2015 mixed up. And I too am as happy as anybody to see Sammy racing and winning!

Steve retired from the WoO last year, not racing. Sammy, and I really don't care, but he flat said he was DONE!! Except for Chili Bowl. To each his own but either way it was/is still great watching them.

Steve could stay retired and Sammy could race till he dies and still will never pass Steve in wins, championships, etc., etc.
