"I can't believe how so many people don't realize that contracts are BINDING." True, for both sides. WoO had an obligationto reply to Jason's request, especially since others were permitted to run, and they told him they would get back to him, which they didn't.

False statement, not fulfilling the contract in good faith. Its not a one way street (just a one way racetrack...)

But there is also the legal issue of precident. How has WRG handled other contract disputes? I'm sure there are more than a few contract issues every year that we don't hear about. Is the WRG contract with the driver or car owner? Why were the KKR cars and drivers allowed to race IF they changed their number as reported? I don't know about you, but I go to see the DRIVERS compete and I don't care if Steve has a 16, 22 or 99 on his car.

Did the punishment fit the crime? It seems overly severe to most all us fans. Why would WRG knowingly p*ss off one of the most popular drivers and incure the wrath of the fans who support their series. I agree the WRG does not have an obligation to get back to Jason but WRG has 12 driver or so under contract and should have the COURTESY to get back with Jason in a timely manor.

I'm sure that are more details that will come out as this progresses but there is no doubt that this publicity has hurt WRG.

For all you legal "experts'...

this dispute will never go to trial. Sides knows this, which is why he went public with his story. He is just trying to make things bad for the Woo's public image (as if it could get any worse).

Sides went to Carter, who told him to go to Carlton Reimers, who told Sides his racing in a non-sancted event was not allowed. Sides didn't take no for an answer, so he called Carter, who told him nothing. Nothing means he didn't have permission to race. It doesn't make any difference whether Schatz or whoever raced or not. Not everybody has the same provisions in their individual contracts. End of story.

Sides/Decker picked this fight to cause bad publicity for the Woo. Decker was the one trying compete against the WoO by running the NST. Frankly, he's an idiot. This whole thing is a setup to pick a public fight.

As for Sides, if you don't like the provisions of a contract, don't sign it. Then you can race wherever you want. If you want the benefits of being a WoO member (aka point fund, free passes, ect.) then follow the rules. You can't have it both ways.

Mate you dont even have the true story about what even happened you say " Sides went to Carter, who told him to go to Carlton Reimers, who told Sides his racing in a non-sancted event was not allowed. Sides didnt take no for an answer,so he called Carter, who told him nothing"

That is all a load of garbage, you got to love people on here posting about something they no nothing about.

Sides did NOT ring Carter after Carlton told him no! He went straight to Carter because all year long when Sides would ask Carlton about anything,he would ALWAYS reply, let me ring Carter & ask him! So Sides went straight to the top to ask for permission instead, then Carter took it upon HIMSELF to just assume that Carlton had already said no,& didnt bother returning his call. Nobody in that organisation seems to know what the next person is doing, maybe if these guys actually made & returned phone calls things wouldnt be in such shambles

Budz76: I think you misunderstood me. I'm with ya all the way, WoO DID have an obligation to get back with Jason.

Sprints777: Not claiming to be an expert by any means, just a citizen with common sense. "Carlton Reimers, who told Sides his racing in a non-sancted event was not allowed" Where did you get that? Not the story Jason is circulating...

And even if WoO is right on a technicality, punishment definitely does NOT fit the crime. He should be penalized for one race, if any. Flat out, if the guy risks his life for our entertainment & WoO's profit, they should give him the benefit of the doubt!!!

I guess whatever story Sides circulates must be the truth...right?

And risking his life for our entertainment isn't a precedent in contract law, as far as I know.

This is just a pissing match between two parties that both lack any real intelligence. This has everything but a laugh track.

I wish we could get a copy of the contract that way we all know what it says, since there are so many people that already know, and have so much information about what it says, what can and can't happen, fines if you do and fine if you don't. Was Jason a lil wrong yes was WoO way wrong YES, hope they have to pay him, his lawyers, and intrest! WoO have been watching to much NASCAR and think they can just take money away, these guys are racing for a (living) not (millions)!!!

Sprint 777x, is that a fact that Carltom Reimers told Joson he was not allowed to race or are you speculating?

Sprint777x There is an old saying :Better to have people think your an idiot than to open your mouth or in your case type on a key board and remove all possible doubt .

I can tell you right here & now that Sides' story is the truth mate,I was there first hand when it all went down, actually about 2 feet away from him when he made the calls!

This just amazes me how people can read a handfull of posts on this site & make up there own story from what they THINK they know!

Remember when Jimmy Sills wanted to go race somewhere else he would call himself Luke Warmwater. All the drivers need an Ailis.

luke warmwater ran the dirt cup at skagit about ten years ago or so..........

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Life is good...
