Open Wheel Friday Night @ Outlaw Motor Speedway

Tulsa Okla. (April 12, 2016) – This coming Friday night at the Outlaw Motor Speedway will be an all Open Wheel program featuring the Ameri-Flex sprint cars, the Powri West midgets and IMCA Modifieds. This special event is the first of two appearances by the Ameri-Flex / OCRS sprints at the Outlaw Motor Speedway in 2016. The Harold Leep Classic will be held on August 26th.
Robert Sellers took the first outing at OMS in last years all open wheel show while Whit Gastineau scored the Harold Leep Classic event. Both drivers are expected in the field this Friday along with a pack of additional drivers that will vie for the right to park it in victory lane.
If speed is your thing, you will enjoy the confines of OMS. The wide 3/8-mile racetrack offers some of the highest speeds turned on tour. Race fans that frequent the racing action at OMS, know all to well how well the speeds pick up lap after lap. Friday night will be the third event for the series in 2016.
Hot laps get underway at 7:30pm with racing set to fire off at 8pm. Forecast looks good so come out and enjoy a night of fun and excitement at the Outlaw Motorsports Park.

A Force To Be Reckoned With -
Jason McDougal put the open wheel world on notice he is the real thing with his performance at the Lawton Speedway. McDougal had never flipped a switch on a sprinter before and went out and won the Car & Fleet Parts heat race and came right back to win the Ameri-Flex Hose & Accessories A-Feature. Unfortunately an improper tire cost the young man an official win as well as the second place driver, Mike Goodman (McDougal’s teammate). He will get his due. Just you see.
Subdued Victor -
With the disqualification of McDougal and Goodman, the official win went to Sheldon Barksdale. It was the first career win for Barksdale but without the gratification of getting a trip to victory lane. Barksdale would much have preferred to get his initial win the standard way, but sometimes lady luck dictates when and where and when things will take place.
Turn Loose Da Mongoose –
Matt “Mongoose” Sherrell is going to make his Ameri-Flex / OCRS return at Outlaw Motor Speedway this Friday night. Sherrell will be in a car driven by Brent Swift (owned by Paul Johnson) in the first two events of the season. The Mongoose hasn’t seen action with the series since he plowed his way into a field of cars at the Brill Motor Speedway on March 30, 2013 in a non-wing event.
Decade of Silence –
Brandon Haddad informs Ameri-Flex / OCRS officials that it has been 10 years since he has been racing. Haddad was racing micros but after working along side of Brandon Jennings for a spell, Haddad jumped at the chance to get a sprint car and presto, he is participating with the series. Welcome aboard Brandon
Military Orders -
2015 Series runner-up Shane Sellers was AWOL from Lawton Speedway. Mr. Sellers is performing his Military duties and will be out of action for a few more events. Sellers is expected to return to action in mid-May. Thank you for your service sir!
