Grant Junghans only made one 600-mile trip south from Manhattan Kansas to LoneStar Speedway, and that was past September during the Armadillo Nationals.
He made a big impression with the fans, drivers and track management with his larger-than-live personality...and quickly adapted to the LoneStar high banks.
And, when their team left the pit gate at the end of the weekend, they not only left with a whole new group of fans and friends, they were also holding a massive trophy, oversized check - plus the real check, for $10,000 after winning the 3rd annual LoneStar Armadillo Nationals .
27-year old Grant was in remission from cancer at the time, and we are very saddened to hear that he has passed away from the disease that he battled so hard with.
From everyone at LoneStar Speedway, we hope that Grant's friends and family can come to find peace at this difficult time. Please keep them in your thoughts.
