Exciting 2016 Schedule Await NCRA Sprint Division!
Park City, Kansas – February 15, 2016 - Officials with the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas have released the 2016 schedule for their 360-ci sprint car division with sixteen races at seven different venues. ASCS rules still apply as well as official rules for the new NSL 360-ci sprint series and all NCRA scheduled events will pay the standard $2,000 to win and $300 to start unless otherwise noted.
For the sixth straight year the season will get started with the sixth annual “Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout” with this year’s version a two-day event slated for Friday and Saturday night, March 25-26. There will be an open practice session on Thursday night (25th) with a special time trial session that will have no bearing on lineups for Friday and Saturday night. However, quick time during the time trial session will receive $500; $300 for second quick and $200 for third quick. There is a $10 entry fee for this special time trial session. Friday night’s feature event will pay $1500 to win and $250 to start while Saturday night’s championship feature will pay a series record $10,000 to win.
The 27th consecutive season for the tour returns to 81 Speedway on April 16 before making their first trip to the Western Kansas town of Dodge City and Dodge City Raceway Park on Saturday night, May 7.
A Memorial Day weekend double-header kicks off on Friday night (May 27) at Salina Speedway in Salina, Kansas after several year hiatus. From there the tour heads back to 81 Speedway for their third appearance of the season.
Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska is set for Saturday night, June 11 before a Father’s Day weekend outing at 81 Speedway on Saturday night, June 18, in a night that will also feature the series modified and mod lite divisions. This will also be the annual “Steve King Foundation Night” with various fund raising opportunities slated.
A huge Independence Day weekend will see the NCRA join forces with the new NSL 360 series at Dodge City Raceway Park on Friday and Saturday night, July 1-2, with Saturday night’s championship feature winner earning $10,000.
Two weeks later it is time for the prestigious 60th annual Hutchinson Grand Nationals, atop the Kansas State Fairgrounds, and unlike previous year’s this will be a one night only event on Saturday night, July 16. Then on Sunday night the tour will make their first ever appearance at Heartland Park Topeka in Topeka, Kansas.
Labor Day weekend will see the tour in action on Sunday night, September 4, at 81 Speedway before a tentative weekend slated for Friday and Saturday night, September 30 and October 1, at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska.
The 27th consecutive season comes to a close on Saturday night, October 8, and officials are once again expecting the 2016 championship battle to not be decided until this night.

Since 1971 the NCRA has sanctioned dirt track races across the Great Plains with the series currently sanctioning four divisions. They include 360-ci sprints, modifieds, crate late models mod lites. The 2016 season for the National Championship Racing Association is the 46th anniversary season with races scheduled at nine different race tracks across Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma.
