The $60,000 Red River Open Wheel Nationals (OWN) is THIS Friday & Saturday at Red River Speedway (RRS), and another 'invader' with distant ties to Texas has thrown his hat in the ring for the RaceSaver Sprint Car division.

Young Jake Bubak of Arvada Colorado (Denver) has entered his Myers Racing Engines, Simpson Safety Products number 9X in to the OWN event.

Below is a picture of Jake after winning the Saturday night A-feature of the 2015 IMCA RaceSaver SuperNationals feature... at Eagle Raceway...topping a field of nearly 90 sprint car teams.

Many of you 'old timers' certainly remember his dad, Rich Bubak, who ran the World of Outlaws and 'invader' circuit from the 80's, on; many times in his familiar number 9 and 9X (the same number now shared with son Jake).

Regarding the 'distant ties to Texas', also pictured below is Rich who drove the Max and Laura Henson owned 22 ( and sometimes the car was numbered 2¢ ) sprint car based out of Dallas.

Pictured with Rich (RR tire) is a very young Wayne Brown, AKA cwb15.com (circa 1990) standing behind Max who is sitting on the LF tire.

Also below, is a picture of the number 9 of father Rich, which is familiar to all of you well-seasoned sprint car fans...of which I am one of, LOL... wink

For those keeping track, Jake also becomes the current 'long haul' team at the OWN, as it is 640 miles one-way from his home in Colorado to RRS.

We'd like to welcome the Bubak clan to Red River Speedway this weekend, and we hope you fans enjoyed this snippet of 'behind the scenes' and racing history as the Red River Open Wheels Nationals weekend begins to unfold.

For complete event details, click www.RRSpeedway.com - races are at 8pm on Friday and 6pm Saturday. Weather looks great with dry conditions and race time temps of about 80 degrees. Let's Kick a Little Dirt!
