Hey, I have 3 wheelbarrows, can we run them too?  Way too many classes for sprint car fans to have to put up with. #1230finish

Far too many classes for a sprint car special.  One additional class is ideal, two is too many, four is irresponsible.

And seniors and military personnel that have an income get a $5 discount and a 12 year old that doesn't, has to pay the adult price?.......crazy/greedy with no regard for the future of the sport.

This is not for agrument, just stating facts:

RRS has had 9 rainouts in 2015 and the points divisions haven't gotten to race for their sanctioned national points nearly as much as most other tracks in the country.

The sprint cars run the 2nd feature out tonight.

RRS charges less for adult tickets to ASCS races than many other tracks do. Plus the new 'combined regions' purse is higher than in 2014.

RRS pays a lot higher purse to their support divisions than many other tracks do.

And the 4 support classes tonight will have a combined total of 8 heats and 1 feature before the sprint car feature. So it's not going to drag out all night.

On a personal note, I would suggest contacting the track directly with your comments, since you post the same thing on each of the RRS track announcements...and they aren't seeing your comments here. Plus if you are comparing sprint events in the SW to this event - especially in context with ticket prices - the Red River region base purse is a substantially higher event purse than the Southwest division base purse is. I could point out other tracks that have a lot more support classes than this...but a person can research those facts on their own.

Well, if your the "mouth" of the RRS, relay the thoughts of the fans, you remember those people who keep your gates open?  Sprint car fans couldn't care any less for door bangers, or how many rain outs your door banger classes had. We come to spend $ to support our passion, but you bogg the show down with way too many classes.  I admit i'm not a regular at your speedway, because I choose to follow the ASCS.  However I , along with many others, can choose to not go to your 4+ hour event, and watch your promoter take a bath at the gate!

It's really rather simple,

Either:

A) cancel the door bangers except for your highest car count class and run those with the sprints

B) run your sprints on saturday night with your highest door banger car count class.

There was a rain delay and the running order was changed so the track conditions would be optimal for the sprint cars.

There was a 1/2 hour rain delay, it's 10:45 and the sprint feature is out on the track.

How many 12-16 year olds are there tonight?

With rain delay, the track was still crap! You need to put some clay on this track. What you have is sand. We saw 2 or 3 right rear tire failures on a 25 lap feature, there is no way that should have been. If I was the Hoosier tire man I'd pay the sanction fee out of my own pocket to get these guys back as much as possible, cause you know this track kills tires. several cars didn't show because of your surface. Once again piss poor track conditions. The best thing you could do is not run sprints here ever again, or until you fix the surface, it's such a disappointment, and a kick in the crotch to sprint car fans who know what a quality sprint car show is. #FAIL

johnnynott -

Very rarely I post a response to a screen name that is clearly disgruntled, but this is one of those exeptions, as some people actually will believe some of the false or incorrect information you have posted.

But here are the facts:

-Two of the cars that had 'tire failures' were due to contact. I'm not going to list there names, but if you were, in fact, there, then you could go ask them yourself what caused the problem tonight at Abilene.

-The car that started 7th in the sprint feature and finished 2nd had a used RR tire on to start the feature and when he came in neither of the rear tires were blistered, and furthermore he stated 'all the tires were fine'.

-That same driver visits probably 50-60 racing venues a year and during his live interview stated "the track was perfect."

-The winner of the Modified feature told me "RRS keeps getting better and better and I can't complain much"

Anyone who knows me knows I will take the time to answer any question to someone who legitimately has one. But cases like this, sometimes the facts need to be stated.

But I also will never help a driver or a fan who bashes a track without just cause.

If your personal goal is to drag this track down, go for it. You won't get another response from me; as the facts are the facts.

Nuff said.
