I was happy to bring a newbie to Summer Nationals last weekend. Walking thru all the campers & RVs in the parking lot, she asked if they followed the whole Outlaws tour.... I didn't know, assumed most fans picked certain races & areas
So how many people actually follow the whole tour?

If I ever win the powerball, that's one of the things I'd do. One year I'd like to follow the WoO, hitting any other race I could hit in the process. I'd also like to spend a summer chasing USAC. Sure is nice to dream.

After 19 years of hotels, I'm enjoying my first year "on the road" with a motorhome. Having spent most race nights camped at the track, I can't think of any fans that are doing the whole season. (People traveling the whole circuit tend to get to know one another by this point of the schedule.) I know in the past there HAVE been fans who did a whole season (or at least 90% of it), but I don't think anyone is doing it in 2015.

My wife and I said the same thing... if we ever won the lottery we would like to follow them for a year... Hopefully when we retire which is a long ways off (I am 44) we could do it for one year in a Travel Trailer.

I know that super-fan Anita Zwerin made every race for a few years running. Miss seeing her around.

Back in the '80's and '90's, and a little before and after, I followed the WoO extensively. I chased them around the country from Fremont, CA to Hagerstown, MD, Winnipeg, MB to Big H in Houston, and 80 or so tracks in between. By no means, full time, usually 30-35 races a year...Knoxville Nationals 16 years in a row (not all WoO) from 1976 to 1992. My biggest fantasy at that time was buying an RV after retiring, and following the circuit full time. Well, most everything fell in to place. I retired at 55, but lost the motivation to follow the WoO, but still attended a lot of races. I now have the RV, and the highlites of my year (in order) are Indiana Sprint Week (3868 mile round trip), Kokomo Smackdown, Oval Nationals at Perris, CA, and the Western World and Copper on Dirt in AZ. All non-winged. Last year, I took a detour and went to a WoO show in McCool Junction, NE, my first outlaw show in about 15 years. Well, I'm good for another 15. Please don't take this as a shot at the WoO. They still fill the stands most everywhere they go, and still offer some exciting racing. I guess tastes change over the years, and it looks like mine have. I know I would be seeing a lot more of the country as well as getting more use out of my RV if I was following their circuit.

If I could I'd do it like you, mix it up, USAC, Outlaws, midgets, mixed in with music festivals
I kind of do that now every summer, but no camper, not every weekend
Trying to decide for the rest of summer, thinking of a 3 week swing, not sure if I want to drive that much...
Did Knoxville last 4yrs. Kokomo Smackdown last year, but that involved a plane ride too
