Windom, MN (June 29, 2015) – The FVP National Sprint League’s inaugural season in 2015 has gotten off to an incredible start! Though the bulk of the season remains, the series is already looking to 2016 as well. With that in mind, the NSL would like to announce that it will expand its series in 2016 to include the 360 sprint car division!

Adding 360’s is a natural fit for the business model already established by the FVP National Sprint League. Plans are currently underway to include six to seven regional series throughout the Midwest from Minnesota to Texas. More information will be announced about the National Sprint League 360 divisions in the next several weeks!

NSL founder Tod Quiring adds, “With the current business model we have established with the FVP National Sprint League 410 division, we see a great opportunity in getting not only our current marketing partners involved, but also adding new marketing partners in the expansion of the regional 360 NSL division. We are looking forward to announcing our regions and drivers in the weeks to come.”

Now, is this a ploy to compete against Emmett Hahn's ASCS series' as well as regional series'? I know the ASCS is really struggling right now and with a good following the NSL might put the ASCS out of business.

Proudly supports:

What I'm reading into this is that NSL plans to unite 360 Sprint Car racing in the Midwest and upper Midwest.  The release talks about "announcing regions and drivers in the weeks to come".  It would be an exercise in futility to attempt to start these regional divisions without the cooporation of the racers and people running existing series in those regions.  The way I'm interpeting this is that existing 360 series would make up these divions and run the shows.  They'd be under the NSL umbrella and benefit from NSL sponsors, guidance, rules, etc.  I'm even guessing they might retain their current names ie "UMSS presented by NSL" or something like that.  There would theoretically be some big races in a central location, Jackson for example, that would pull the divisions together into several big shows each season.

That would be the way I would see it happening.  The thing to do might be to talk to some of the people involved in these regional 360 series and see what has been presented to them if you know any well enough to pose that sort of question.  Of course as is the case with anything new there will probably be a certain amount of confidentiality untili all the details are hammered out.

I was a bit skeptical of the NSL concept until I saw it come together but their actions once things got rolling this season has given me the confidence that they making positive changes.  I think that the people with the means to make Sprint Car racing bigger and better are giving it their best so all I can do is roll with it.  Ironically after chasing races for papers and magazines for sixteen seasons all this is happening in a year when I have backed off to my fewest races attended in two decades.  Two shows so far and it's already Fourth of July weekend.  Two-day WoO show coming up 32 miles from the end of the driveway a week from Saturday and I've got a load of decking being delivered.  Not good timing to have a big project starting me in the face and the non-race-fan wife demanding my undivided attention here at home.  wink
